Changing Modules Happens Too Fast

Let's just make it turn based. You can only move a certain amount of LY per BGS tick, based on your FSD.
The funny thing is they did nerf the FSD back in the 1.4 update because people complained that supercruise was too fast. Used to be you were limited to 2001ls/s if you had a target locked, uncapped if you didn't. Since then it's been capped locked/unlocked.

I believe the term is parody... or satire... not straw man.

To be parody or satire it has to be funny, or at least insightful. This is just "if you delay one thing you should delay everything" thread #13. There is no humor or insight to it, it's just a transparent attempt to fabricate a false argument and attack that instead of discussing the actual issue.

I have demonstrated how hollow this line of "argument" is several times by showing how easily it can be turned around as an "instant everything" argument, since we all know of course that instant everything would completely gut the game (we'd have a space game with no space). It has no more substance than waving your hands and yelling incoherently.

Thank you for taking the time to submit a reply but I am afraid the truth is that you are wrong.

Oh, right, it's "delay everything" strawman thread #14. Don't know how I missed that one. ;)
Let's compromise. Some people want modules to take days to install, you don't want modules to take any time to install. A compromise would be to make modules take minutes to hours to install. There, everyone will be happy and have compromised.

Thats a good point good thinking. I had specified 10-100 minutes because thats a reasonable approximation of it I thought but I once had a car and it needed new parts installed and i had to leave it with the mechanic for more than 2 days for it to get done.

Only if I can walk around the station and do stuff while they're working, and/or take off in a different ship while they're working. I'd also want to be able to queue up all the loadout changes before initiating the process, so they all run at the same time.

But of course, I know you're not actually offering in good faith, and instead you're still trying to bash the same old strawman.

Please dont make things personal with personal attacks against people or attacks on their personal motives thank you.

I fail to see the problem that requires a solution but I realise that's just my view.

If Elite Dangerous were to try to fool me into thinking it were a mirror of reality then it may break my Immersion (TM). I'm more interested in meaningful gameplay but again, that's just my view.

By this logic ship transfers should be instant. Ships are supposed to be transfered by bulk freighters, this has been stated multiple times by the developers. There are no bulk freighter models in the game. Therefore, by your argument should only take time if you see the mechanic of it then ship transfers should be instant.

you're still trying to bash the same old strawman.
You really need to stop trying to use terms you don't understand.

What I was presenting was argumentum ad temperantiam, an informal fallacy where one argues that the opponent has to accept a compromise between two positions created by the giving the argument.

I'm merely pointing out that I know you and he are being dishonest. Even that line right there is clearly intended to deceive. You cannot expect anything resembling a reasonable conversation when you misrepresent yourself like that.

You also forgot the "uwu".

I've received an emailed death threat from these people, multiple "I'll report you if you don't stop" PMs. If all ROSS-128 is sending is infantile "you're a monkey" personal attacks I don't mind. My opinion of them couldn't possibly be lower.
