Discerning Systems

It's been discussed previously that criminal pilots may not be welcome in some of the more secure systems, where criminal status of all travelers is monitored.

I'm also hoping that certain systems will only be welcoming to pilots with certain contacts (some requiring criminality to gain reputation) or members of certain factions ("We don't want no Federal scum here!")

This sort of depth in the different systems is what i am hoping Frontier will deliver - here's hoping.

Something to add variety, depth, and opportunity for new and different missions/contacts/experiences? Can't think of a reason not to have that!

Although I haven't settled on a career myself, I don't want to see piracy become synonymous with anti-social players. Ideally it should be a way of life that comes with its own set of perks and drawbacks.

It would be a shame if pirates were the only ones who were hindered in their travel because of their choices. I'd like to see other avenues open up for those who are willing to deal with the more unsavoury elements in the galaxy.

If there are going to be ship upgrades only available to those with a high military rank then it would be great if pirates got access to some unique hardware that helps them in their nefarious acts.

i think you are onto something there and i also think that FDEV will flesh out various routes to elite (so to speak)

In all honesty this just sounds like you want WOW ED:

Anyone for a Space Orgrimmar or Stormwind?

I don't mean that to sound negative but all it will create is players sticking to certain areas whereas I would like to see criminals being able to slip past the Fuzz and trade where they want.

Faction selection can be done without it meaning auto attack in another factions space.

I liked playing WoW :) They got a lot of stuff right when it came to creating a social game.

I wouldn't want to see the galaxy carved up into large faction specific chunks, or not give players a chance to slip by the security services.

I'm trying not to use what I see in the alpha/beta as a basis for my opinion, but also considering what has been said in DDF proposals I wonder if the criminal path might be being made too unappealing.

The scenario, when I take down 100 federal fighters and after that I go to dock into federal station without any problems feels kind of stupid. I hope ED will work with reputations just like that, you can make a mess in one constellation and live in another, so you keep your clean sheet to do trading or whatever you want, but if you shoot someone´s ships, he should treat you like an enemy.

Surely this is where turning your 'transponder' off will be of use? No number plate, no trace?

Well you certainly weren't welcoming the last time we "met".

I'm hoping you try that again Cmdr Stabler. You know what I'm talking about!

<edit> or pay me 5700 credits back and I'll think about taking you off my KOS list.
