Newcomer / Intro Old newbie questions

Howdy all took a break from the gaming world for a wile now I am getting back into ED, stopped playing a few months after power play came out. I see Horizons is out and that looks like it adds a new twist on the game.

Ok here are the questions,

is Horizon and the engineers just another grind like trading and mining was or a fun addition to the game?

I searched around but cant find and info on what controllers are supported, my Warthog stick and throttle worked before just want to make sure my Crosswinds rudder pedals will work ok or will I have to switch back to my old CH pedals? also did the developers ever add support for the MFD Cougar panels or are they still inop for game controls?

Mining has moved on quite a bit from what you were used to.
Most of the engineers require you to do various different parts of the game to unlock them, such as mining, bountyhunting, smuggling, or exploration.
Like the rest of the game, engineers can be as grindy or not as you want to make it.

I have Warthog, MFD panels, and Slaw Device pedals.

I don't use any additional software, just go into options/controls and map your gear directly to ED

What slaw pedals do you have I have drooling over his new Dora pedals that he is working on now.
