Questions about ship launched fighter

Why only one fighter?

Larger ships should be able to carry multiple fighters. T9's should at least have two.

Will we be able to augment our ship launched fighters with engineer augmentations? I would love to see ship launched fighters with shield regeneration lasers or emissive rounds to light up those pesky silent running builds.

Are the pilots actually jumping into the fighters or piloting them remotely?

I know people don't want rear view cameras, but I do. As a compromise, can we have deployable side mirrors on the fighters? Even retro (contemporary) fighter jets had rear view mirrors, for crying out loud. Can you imagine an anaconda deploying two huge side mirrors?

-I think the limitation is: 1 fighter active at a time, but you can carry many of them, and if one gets destroyed, launch another

-They said no engineer mods for fighters at release, but maybe in future updates

-We are (currently) piloting them remotely, so they have a max distance from the ship they can be active, again subject to change in future updates (as is everything lol)

-Yes...yes...a thousand times yes, and the mirrors better reflect that damm heat beam back at the pirate behind me :D

Who doesn't want rear-view mirrors? I watched the most recent(?) SC video and loved the rearward view from the turret when zooming about.

Yeah, you pilot the fighters remotely, which IMO is a real shame. It's never as satisfying shooting down a drone as a fighter - and why ever have a "pilot" in the cockpit? Can fighters have their canopies shot out? If so, does your non-existant self in the cockpit asphyxiate?

I think it's really daft. I know the "I" word is almost a dirty word around here, but the whole point of Immersion is the impression / feeling / sensory inputs of being there. And it's one thing at which FD have excelled. Except now after doing all the hard work, you're not "there". Let us fly the fighters, and if it's destroyed an escape pod zooms back to the ship and we can launch another. #WeNeedAnotherPoll! :)
