Shady contacts

I don't think this feature is unappreciated - it's quite the opposite.

The support for it is so overwhelming, the implementation so spot-on (a perfect blend of immersive and QoL mechanic), that no one feels the need to say anything about it.

That's the reason there's been no discussion on the topic.

Perfectly aware of that. That's why I thought we should give some positive feedback for a change, even if we don't feel the need to dissect it.

Thanks for the response, Sandro!

I don't know, but doesn't sound "Interstellar Factors" very official? But then again, I often miss the subtleties of English puns

I'd guess with Sandro's reference to a change of business address, they're no longer "Shady" but they are more formal. Apologies if you're well aware, but Factor has a meaning in this sense of acting on someone else's behalf in commercial dealings: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Factor_(agent)

Hello Commanders!

They're still dodgy, but their name does in part have the meaning of completing transactions on behalf of clients.

Are they going to be visible on the system maps like black markets of will we have to hunt them down, It'd be great if they moved about too ... :)

It would be great if FD would add a shady looking avatar to the corresponding option in the station menu!

Yup, that would be great!

I hear that some of these shady contacts have been buying up cheap bulk carriers. Word is, they offer shipping at a lower rate; then hold your 'goods' for ransom; demanding exorbitant amounts of credits, before handing over your property.

'Fixer' may be a better fit that 'factor' if you want to infer a mild degree of shadiness to it.

I agree "factor" sounds a bit odd. How about "brokers"? I think there was another game with a certain Shadow Broker... And instead of making them available everywhere, how about just in places with Black Markets?

Deep Web Elite

I can smell a new rank incoming :D

I'd love to see underworld ranks for us smugglers, pirates and assassins. You want mines that look and scan like cargo canisters, scan-resistant cargo racks or tips where the diamond runners are? Get friends in low places!
