Death of a Pilot - rather cool vid. :)

That second clip has me intrigued: I've never seen Stairway to Heaven, and I'd like to watch it now. Always was a big fan of David Niven, and surprised the clip rings no bells!

It is one of my favourite films. 1946 I believe, and it out weirds the twilight zone and The Outer limits, while surpassing them both as a compelling story, in my view.... But please, it is "A Matter of Life and Death", "Stairway to Heaven" was the American title, as well as being the title of an appropriated chord progression by a popular beat combo in the early seventies.

Love the Yanks, but there have be questions about a country that renamed Bluebyte's "The Settlers" to "Serf City"!

Tell me this isn't cool. :)

Needs some pedal steel guitar over the top for the perfect accompanyment.

Actually it reminds me of Space Cowboy's death from Battle Beyond the Stars (one of the best SF films ever, I'll have you know so there), so maybe some harmonica as well... and Hannibal from the A-Team.

I remember actually being offended as a child watching that movie!

"What is this crap? How DARE you show me this drivel, to one who has seen the all-conquering Glory that is Star Wars?!?!"

Brilliant video, both touching and amusing. A testament to the ethos of the space dogs we are.
So sad there wasn't the ability to have a final cigar. ;)

That film (not Star Wars!) was never far from my mind when playing Elite (that and The Last Starfighter!). Far more of the ambiguous morals and bounty hunting savvy that I aspire from my CMDR! And it has Robert Vaughan in it toooo!

Always had a soft spot for Battle Beyond the Stars too - good soundtrack, liked the main space ship design and there was quite a bit of weird stuff in it too.

What's the helmet overlay in the Elite video? not seen that before.

If your ship's canopy is breached, you automatically get an emergency oxygen supply for a short time. It would be nice if down the road you were able to make your way to a decent supply while you made repairs....
