Welcome all to the new, re-booted Deep Recon X Discussion Thread.

The Universe is big, but time is short, and we appreciate you stopping by. This thread is the new foundation for DRX on the Frontier Forum for Elite Dangerous. Why? Well, because the old thread was originally just to see if there was interest in such a group. We've moved on a LOT since then.
Here you will find us coming and going with chatter on new discoveries, discussion on recent ship builds, beautiful photographs of celestial objects, and whispers from the derelict corners of our galaxy.

Oh, why is the thread titled 'Gateway'? Well, this thread is a Gateway to discussion for (and with) the members of DRX, and Gateway WAS our informal and temporary 'home' - Ray Gateway in Diaguandri

Hi there, I'm Chris Drake AKA Iconoclypse, Icon, L'Eclipser (hey, did he just make a ShadowMan joke? WOW).

I'm just wondering why you picked Diaguandri as a 'home' system... that place is one of the biggest toolsheds in the galaxy... and I'm not talking of outfitting here... just the fact that most of the complete spanners you're ever likely to meet all rattle around there.

I'm based somewhere really nice and quiet nearby to Diaguandri, with more than decent outfitting at 15% discount and everything else I need in the way of res and CZ's... exploring opportunities et al less than 2 jumps away... but you won't catch me hanging around Ray Gateway in an expensive ship looking for parts :)

Well, why didn't you say so sooner, Mole, old chap? :p

I know it's a popular place, and bth I'm not sure we'll be here for that long. It was just time for us to have a rallying point in-game and Gateway was the one we kept coming back to and basically we just went with it. It'll do for now.

As for the 'spanners' many DReXers were already stationed there, or actively working from Gateway, so watch your generalisations there, matey. :)

Eh, new digs are nice in my opinion. I've been floating around the alpha and beta quadrants in star trek but it's time I returned to my python.
I'm based out of lhs 20 myself, I have a history with the factions here from earlier in my career.

Goodbye Old Thread!

Incidentally, not that it affects you lot, cos you're already DReXers, for better or worse, but I've spend the afternoon sprucing up our Dangerous Groups thread. I think it's a little more newcomer friendly (although that first post is probably still TL;DR - but we wanted to spark the imagination). btw if anyone has ideas/corrections/suggestions for that thread, let me know. It's important it represents our group fairly. The CT agonised somewhat over it, but we're not locked away from the rest of you. [heart]


Anyhoo, that thread is where all missions will be posted, for those who don't use our Discord server, or INARA wing (you know who you are!). [yesnod]

Oh, and the old DRX thread is now OFFICIALLY locked and done with.:x
