Horizons Mission Problems

Hi Guys,
I took on 3 missions to find some bootleg beer , All 3 were in the same system, and each had a minimum of 3 days to complete.
The system Salmandali ( I think ) is not all that big, there were 7 planets you could land on, 2 of which with bases on them,

Now I think i am about average when it comes to doing missions, I especially like the surface ones, ( love the SRV) .

Now, the moment i entered the system, i began my scanning, which I did several times around each of the planets, even the ones that you could not land on,
I spent 3 days in this system scanning and landing and searching for the goods, But no matter what i did, Nothing was found, No mission updates, nothing except when the mission time expired, and that was to tell me I mission failed.

I have had many missions like these ones, and they all go by the numbers,

I would really like to know, prefferably from FD, why this was the case. if there is some kind of problem I think the players should be notified in tyhe form of a message as you enter the system or something .

I dont want anything for this issue, except WHY this happened.....................3 Days man.

Possibly a silly question, since you seem to know what you're doing, but did you scan the nav beacon in the system to be notified where the mission target would spawn?

Otherwise, post a bug report, or submit a ticket.

2 things, the beacon was compromised according to the system, secondly, I have never scaned the actual beacon.......................which brings up another question, How do you scan when your in space.

You don't scan it in supercruise - you drop at the nav beacon poi, then target the actual nav beacon again, and it scans like a ship (it appears in your contacts list). That should give you the location of the mission POI. Alternatively, the Advanced Scanner does it all from supercruise. Just honk, and you get the info.

Ok, I thought there might have been a different method, the method o you discribed, didnt work, I took my ship right up to the beacon and got nothing.

The mission description would say if you needed to scan the Nav beacon for the info. If it doesn't, then you shouldn't need to.

You do have the full system map don't you? I couldn't find an entire moonbase the other day, then I realised the body it was on was going around the 2nd star in the system, which I hadn't been to, so the moon wasn't even in my system map!.

If that isn't it - can you post a screen cap of the mission description?

The key to scanning the nav beacon, is to scan the actual beacon, not it's HUD marker. Two easy ways to do this, 1. Look in your Contacts tab (left HUD) and select it from there, or 2. Look for the white marker on your radar and point at it and then select it manually.

Once you have it selected and are pointing at it (you can be up to a couple of Km away from it) you will see it scanning in the lower left of your HUD, and once it finishes you will get a mission update message.

Just to add, if you don't want to drop out of SC to scan the nav beacon, fit an advanced discovery scanner and honk that once you arrive in the appropriate system.

Hi Guys,

An update, I just completed 2 similar missions, both of which I did exactly like the Problem missions i had, and had no problem, indicating to me that there was indeed a problem with the game and not an issue with what I was doing
even though it cost me around 800,000 cr. but i guess there is not much i can do. never mind
