SDC Operation spicy-bois featured on kotaku and eurogamer

I played with SDC for a while and had a lot of fun with them. Whilst I've now left the group, like them or loathe them, articles like this attract attention to the game. For such a small group they are skillful in being part of the narrative, surprising considering how FD bent over backwards over the years to shaft PvP and real emergent gameplay, which ordinarily would be sucked up by the usual backslapping co-op, we love everyone, drivel.

SDC is good for the game and whilst some members are complete ***** what most folks don't seem to understand is they have a much higher understanding of the game than most. Combine that will skill and a bit of mischievousness, you get what you see. I keep telling folks this but they are not undefeatable nor are they omnipresent. What they have done, and I can only respect it, is create a psi op over the whole ED community. [haha]

In my time with them, there was never a dull moment, and openly I learnt a few things, which is saying something given I thought I knew it all.. You'd be lucky to fly with them..

Gluttony, you should really take thing's with a grain of salt sometime. Cmon dude, a bit of common sense..

My common sense consists of reading comprehension .-.

Edit:

Just pointing out that your signature puts you in the position of something similar to SDC PR, and as a PR the things you typed about your organization without putting some sort of humor/jocular disclaimer/cadence just seems like a terrible way to approach PR.

Are you assuming im not friendly, you'd be surprised! Most and if not the majority of SDC members are all very nice people, including myself and i'd be more than welcome to help you become a better pvp player. You shouldn't make assumptions that we are all bad people in real life because we love to kill stuff in-game.
That's the thing both in online and rl for that matter....if people only see you acting one specific way, how would they know anything more about you then how you are acting?

It's already been established that everything is allowed in open that entails blowing you up 50 times if i want.
I'm fairly sure it has not, but I'd love to be linked where it was been that, since I'm fairly sure it was exactly the opposite.

Yea, SDC people are mostly sociable people that are very good at the combat portion of the game and have a broad understanding of the game in general, which are valuable resources in improving the game since there is valuable feedback to be had.

I just hope that they can channel their insight into something that helps the game instead of causing detriments (it's hard to place where they are in terms of +/- with regard to the game).

...piracy is dead. There's been no updates or attempts on frontiers end to fix it despite long feedback and internal discussions. It's sad and dumb to think there's no place for piracy in this universe.

A real shame because it means I have to gratuitously shoehorn my ARRRR Sole Hunter gag into a thread like this rather than being able to use it in a more natural way.

You can't ban people because they destroy your ship 50 times just because it doesn't please you. You can't ban people based on assumptions, you need proof and it's up to frontier to investigate and find out if it's in a fact classified as harassment.

It's been said a number of time in the past and they changed the TOS this year to make it more clear. EVERYTHING is allowed in open as long as it falls within the game rules and the TOS and that entails me killing you as many time as i want, you might not like it but it's part of the game. If you do not wish to take the EXTRA risk associated with being in open then frontier gave you a marvelous option called SOLO.

Also let's get back to the main subject this is turning into another open vs solo debate. I can smell the mod team a mile away.

Yes, the message is definitely working
Which message is this?

It's not the message that came through macros in the game relayed by your victims in this forum. Because I haven't seen a single post in that regard.

That you are very notorious people? Well, you've told us and the nice gaming sites you are, repeatedly. 's not really how notoriety works is it? Here's a challenge. Try not talking about yourself for a while, or create threads to draw attention to yourself, and see else who does.

Please link where you've found this information, 'number of times' should be easy to find and link.
And yes, killing one person repeatedly is harassment, which is not allowed, there is no "assumption" of anything, there is only consequences to actions. So yeah, they've clarified this fairly well.
Allow me to do the link
In addition taking action such as seeking out and targeting specific players purely for the purpose of being disruptive, to cause offence, or to upset players within the community can also be considered harassment. A perfect example of this is deliberately attempting to disrupt public livestreams such as the charity ones mentioned before. This includes, but is not limited to, the capturing of footage and releasing it publically in an attempt to create upset or gain notoriety through the actions listed above.

Thanks, I just noticed that. SDC - Vice President of Propaganda and Medias. And here I was waiting until someone from SDC to pull the leash on this puppy.

Oh this just keeps getting better :) Creating emergent forum content like nobodies business.

What a load of drama queen rubbish.

The weaps got nurfed because they needed to and FDEV were planning on nurfing them well before the drama queens went killing newbies in their orcas for all of 5mins.

I dont mind the drama, its the trying to claim credit for the thousands of feedback sent to FDEV from CMDRs who having nothing to do with the drama queens.

I'm sure we've all experienced game devs claiming they are "working on" changing      mechanics that end up staying in games for months or even years. I'm glad heat is getting hit over the head with the nerf-hammer sooner rather than later.

Unfortunately coming up with a solution isn't always simple or easy code wise despite how it may look to players.

The SDC go crying to the Mods if it doesn't go their way.
I have an infraction for reposting post No.124

Very true. But when you explicitely state not to trust FD working on a certain issue and it turns out they did, it would show some common courtesy to acknowledge that and not claim that credit for yourself.

The developers who did the actual work deserve that. The pilocks who bothered some players for no reason whatsoever in a campaign that was doomed for failure the moment it launched do not deserve that.

As much as I like piling on, moderators have been seen making these decisions on their own account :)

Heat generating weapons were OP, they are getting looked at and nerfed.
.
New mission Update!....
Find and *erase* the engineer supplying 'Heat Weapons' to the general public.
Should you accept this mission details of where this engineer was last sighted will be supplied.
A reward of 20,000,000 cr is offered for the erasure of this commander, but a further 20,000,000 cr is offered if you can capture this commander alive and transport that person to the nearest Federal station for questioning.
Capturing this outlaw alive is preferable, we would also like you to commandeer the engineers ship, a module for this purpose will be fitted to your ship automatically on acceptance of this mission.
.
Accept?...Decline? :D.....[haha]....(Enjoying this topic btw. :D )
.
Jack :)

Yes but Fdev is to be praised for listening to this feedback (though it could've been sooner). Too many companies simply ignore these kinds of issues in order to focus on the next big and shiny toy.
