ED gameplay it's all about -> logoff/logon

If you want to have a good progress in this universe you just have to logoff and logon again and repeat till you got it.

This gameplay is so ridiculous...

It doesn't matter what you need just logoff/logon and repeat.

- need the right missions for special engineers commodities -> logoff/logon
- need missions for fast ranking up empire/federation -> logoff/logon
- need missions for making fast money -> logoff/logon
- need valuable NPCs for good bounty -> logoff/logon
- need a lot of mats for RNGineering like chemical manipulators, fly into a seeking weapons point and what else as -> logoff/logon
- need UA mats for palin, fly to a tip off mission and surprise surprise -> logoff/logon

I don't know what sandy is thinking about his dumb mechanics but it kills a lot of immersion! He should change this to a normal and good gameplay and increase the chance to get all of the stuff in a good progress without -> login off and login on...

It's time to wake up FD!

Or here's an idea: it's not a dumb mechanic but instead an exploit. Don't use it if it makes you feel dumb would be my advice.

If that is how you enjoy playing the game, go for it. Sounds boring to me though.

It not seems to be an exploit because it exists since the game was released in 2014...

Change it and give those guys with lesser time a good progress in this universe. Much needed since the RNGineers...

Yeah, that exploit definitely needs to be closed so people stop complaining about how doing the same thing 24/7 is grind and how that's all the game has to offer.

Full aggree. Only that change will be bigger as most players are aware off. You are to change the concept that client creates the content of instance. You will
have to create it on server side and deliver to client. This goes directly to bandwith that can cause a problem. This makes sure content of instance is at a specific point in time to everyone the same and logon/logoff can't change it but if like many players you are suffering on bandwidth it slown down everything and leads to disagreement.

Miklos

I have a job and a family. With RNGnigeers you need to mod your ship against those cheating NPCs. I need it now and not in one or two years...

"I need it now". And there is your problem. Pretty much wrong game. Sorry!

As to needing engineers mods? I've done without fine since 2.1 dropped. What ship are you flying, what combat rank are you, and do you know how to bug out of combat?

*Edit: This whole argument about 'I have a job and a family, therefore need quick progression' is annoying to those of us with a lot of free time, who value Elite as a 'long-term game'. Who's the more selfish here? Those who want it all now, or those who want every loophole nerfed to heck and back? Answers on a postcard to... (as long as the answer is 'both - equally'. :)

As far as I understand it is created server side... All players at a station will view the same set of missions. I think.

Python with Elite Rank. They        me sometimes up without mods. Since i have some mods it's a lot easier to survive! So yes against some cheating NPCs you need mods... definitely!

The problem is that 90% of all players using this feature. Why i'm writing this down here is i want that FD change their gameplay to a good one without killing immersion and cause a lot of server traffic...

I think his point is, without doing it, things can become even more boring.
Nothing against the points being made here, but it sure doesn't make for good game design ?
Personally i'm glad the option is there, better a cheap solution than no solution at all.
To be fair, ED isn't the only game encouraging instance resetting.

Are you under the impression that you're the only one playing this game who has a number of responsibilities to balance against extremely limited recreation time? That is a false impression.

Equally false are the two assertions you make about cheating NPC's & "needing" the engineered upgrades; you're confusing "want" & "need." if you're really having problems with these watered down NPC's then what you need to do is brush up on your piloting skills.

Upgrades are awesome and fun, but are frosting only.

A-Class Python with Deadly rank here, 6A shields + A0 booster + A3 SCB + Hull reinforcements + 2Fxburst turrets + 3Cx large gimballed multicannons. Works fine for me. Doesn't even need too much pips management - 4 sys, 0 eng and 2 weps works fine for 99% of AI encounters.

The only NPCs I'm cautious about taking on are other Pythons of equal rank and Anacondas. Deadly and Elite Pythons are a pain because they are just as manoeuvrable as me, and I keep on getting into head-ons with them, leading to bad juju. Anacondas are just a slug-fest.

I have also noted that, with the jump from Dangerous to Deadly, some NPCs I meet, ostensibly of the same rank as before, seem a lot better in their use of SCBs, or rather their SCBs seem more effective for no discernable reason of their rank. Now I'm Deadly I find they can still regen shields even with me ploughing all weapons into them, whereas before at Dangerous I seemed to be able to punch through their shields more. That might classify as 'cheating'. Likewise how they are able to mirror your moves, and open fire the instant you do. However, that, to me, just makes fights more interesting. If you start to lose it's still quite easy to boost, disengage and run.

*Edit - One Elite FdL, one Elite DBX and one Deadly Python have been severely harmed during the creation of this post. Damn you Frontier! I keep on having to Task switch to type on your forums whilst playing! Fix it!

Whilst you CAN exploit the game this way no one forcez you to. Personally to me doing this feels lame (personal choice do it if you want but FGS sont moan about it afterwards).

I am over 1000 hrs in and i have never done it. (Actually i lie i have done it once to see if it had been fixed)

I started messing with engineers a few weeks ago ands its tzken me maybe 5 hrs to get to 5* with farseer ans 4* with todd mcquin no exploiting the modes needed.

Dont get me wrong if possible i can think of great upgades to the BB, and equally if you choose to do it to make the game easier/faster to progress that is fine but dont do it then complain about it as its not needed to progress.
