So you want to know about the Formidine Rift? (Part 3)

But there is no information about the "Several places Kahina visited in the bubble before disappearing line up with the 'RR' line".
Maybe there is something from the books?

All the places that we know she visited are mentioned in those Galnet posts, anything else is pure speculation! she visited Earth landing at Cambridge Spaceport, she went to Mars etc......Drew's Reclamation book is a good read & provides some interesting background but is scene setting for this search.
there was a Galnet post (her Cemiess message?) that implied she might have found something hidden between Tionisla & Cemiess where she was captured. Cmdr Edelgard von Rhein did a search along the possible route & posted candidates in this thread around 26th September.

You guys may be wildly overthinking the last clue. The Cobra in Algol (the system in Perseus nearest the "head" of Camelopardalis), piloted by Cetus' Bane seems to fit the clue way too much to be a coincidence. And I find it hard to believe FD would leave temporary content from unrelated events hanging around this long; that's just untidy.

"Cetus' Bane" can be taken to mean both the slayer, and the weapon. The weapon that killed Cetus was Medusa's head, and there is indeed a system called Medusa, with a single station called Kopra (or Cobra, if you will) City. Someone might want to take a look at the news entries on that station. Failing that, there's also the Gorgonea trio of systems (Medusa was a Gorgon).

-I would go and have a look myself, but I'm currently hanging near the Heart nebula. I've been across the Rift for something like ten days now, doing the jump-scan-jump, and when I go back to the bubble, it'll be to cash in the data, hang up the Remlok suit, and go play something else for a long time.

'Untidy' makes more sense to me than re-using content for two different purposes.

Landed at Kopra - there's nothing clue-ish in the news, just normal war and economy stuff.

How many people would you guys say are out exploring the rift? (solo/pg/open, doesn't matter)

I've been peeking into this thread every other day or so and am becoming more and more tempted to just head out in that direction and float around.

I was out there for a while, now back in bubble. I am debating going out again, I want to head out to the rift but with 2.2 coming something may happen in the bubble so I am torn.

So I'm gonna apologize if his has already been asked an as I am new to elite, I haven't obtained to funds to travel there my self but has anyone found an area of the Perseus dark zone that coincides with eafots near h&s nebula. I tried looking on the map but as I am inexperienced, I couldn't find anyhing. If been getting caught up in the threads go the last week or so and I don't remember seeing anything about this.

Just one in open - me. I haven't seen a single person on my friends list in open anywhere near the rift.

Because clearly, if you are not on my friends list, you don't play the game!

I'd suggest getting hold of EDDiscovery 4 (it's free). and getting an EDSM account as well. Apart from tracking where you go, it also shows stars that have been plotted by others, and even has maps of particular sectors of the galaxy - the Formidine Rift being one.

You'll be able to pretty much zero in on the exact area you are talking about and have a look at all the plots in the area. For the record, it's pretty heavily mapped. Lots of undiscovered stuff if you know where to look, but the areas I would say are the prime hunting grounds have been heavily visited.

That is the Mac version, which is a touch different to the WIndows version, but I'm on my Mac now, so can only screen grab that, obviously. The windows version allows you to show discovered stars, in which case, you'd see a very densely populated area of dots around the area where the pin is. Where the line ends is where I am now, and is just before the suspected "rift" starts, as I'm headed back to the bubble.

There's also a 3d map, which is quite cool...
