Crab Nebula Expedition - Respondens autem dico de stellis

I have been 'rock ratting' during the expedition, visiting most of the landable planets in the systems where we have had waypoints. Mostly this has been disappointing - no polonium anywhere. Until a couple of hours ago, I would have had to add Yttrium to that list. But I have now found a planet (Jellyfish sector DL-Y D50 8 D) which has Yttrium (it also has Cadmium, Molybdenum, Chromium, Germanium & Zinc). I have now found 5 Yttrium on this planet, all from metallic meteorites (one even had two lumps). If anyone is looking for anything specific, I can tell them whether I have found it in this system.

Noticed there's a roster keeping track of the number of people at each waypoint though. How does that work? Is there a place where you report your progress?

I believe you are referring to EDSM and EDDiscovery...

1st create an account with EDSM and fill out the profile information> https://www.edsm.net/

then

2nd download/install EDDiscovery and be sure to add VerboseLogging="1" in the network section in AppConfig.xml as outlined here > https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/138155-EDDiscovery

That should do it...

... and if you missed that one, the planet for WP9 (Monkey Head Sector KC-V c2-3 1) also has Yttrium

Mass Jump Recording

I have made every waypoint and since I dialled my Graphics down to Low setting, Since then I have not been dumped out when landing with big groups of players. I have been in the last 2 mass jump outs but have failed to sort out my recording software. A few on discord have said they have made recordings of these jump outs - anyone going to post them up somewhere?

Cannot speak for anyone else, but NAND is mandatory when doing nVidia Shadowplay. Otherwise you'll just get totally backed up I/O buffers. Speaking from first-hand experience. The great thing is that 240GB NAND devices are only US$60, sometimes close to US$50 after rebate or even price shipped. No reason you can't add it as another drive and tell Shadowplay to write there. You can also set it up as a 2nd Steam Folder too.

That all said, if it's really your graphics, GTX 1070 video cards (which are as good as GTX 980 Ti cards) are starting to appear for $400, and the GTX 970 has dropped to $200-something.

Minimum Jump Range to Reach Crab Nebula

Took forever trying to find my way into the Crab Nebula group of stars with a jump range of 22.26LY. Closest I could find was getting to Crab Sector DB-X C1-1 and the longest jump I used getting there was 22.2LY, as I recall. Had enough jumponium for two small injections. Crab Sector DB-X C1-1 to Crab Sector FW-W C1-1 is 23.88LY and no worries after that of course as it is near to the rest of the group of Crab Nebula stars. Will confirm later if minimum jump range needed without using jumponium is 23.88LY.

Cheers!

Love those mass jump outs it was great :)

I'm heading back via the green route and then on to Jaques maybe.

See you out there.

Aw that is just awesome :D

Meanwhile, a few days earlier...

Yeah. I decided to land in Crab stadium just to see the view. Couldn't meet up with you lot since I'm on my own trip, at my own pace. As of right now, I've been at the Monkeyhead nebula for a few days now (Took a break from the game). It was still kinda sad to see no one around, and to think that many players would soon be landing at that very spot X'D

Happy 4th, everyone!

Many thanks to cmdr atomicb0mb639, and all the other cmdrs involved, for organising this fantastic vacation out to the Crab Nebula
It was really great to meet so many like minded explorers.

Hope to meet up again out in the big black.

In case anyone missed this video...

Journey's end my ! ;) If you take the blue route home, the journey is just beginning. This route is longer than the trip out to Crab.

Sure, but it is the end of the main leg of the Crab Nebula journey. The other routes are optional, beyond the whole thing being optional, of course. That video is made by one of the main people hosting the shindig, so their call to make. [up]

Your welcome :)

Just returned to the bubble after CNE. I had left the game after the expedition ended, so I logged in again last week and started making my way home from the Crab Nebula.

I'd like to thank mainly CMDR Atomicb0mb639 for his/her efforts :)
Although I was burnt up after returning from Distant Worlds, it was a great expedition nevertheless.
