Kerrash has some interesting E3 tweets

As some may know the immortal Kerrash has accompanied the Frontier devs to E3 to help showcase it. He's made some tweets about playing the new build, and they sound rather exciting!

Hehehe, my hands move with the controls in the latest @EliteDangerous build. Can't stop giggling :p

Follow @Kerrash for more stings of jealousy :p

Why do we, the faithful paying fans have to find this out in a tweet? Feel like the red headed step child.

(My two sons are red heads, it's just a saying)

Nothing "official" has been released on the new build. <REDACTED>. I wholly believe nothing is supposed to be divulged prior to the media release tomorrow. <REDACTED>
<REDACTED>

I understand your point. I also understand Frontier's methodology for information dissemination and it's pretty apparent why they haven't been more transparent (from my own perspective).

Interesting, sounds like in new build hand on the joystick in the cockpit moves along with your movement like you roll left, right hand bares the joystick to the right and when you accelerate left hand pushes the throttle forward. Thats how I understand "my hands move with controls" ;). Its easy to 'decipher'.

Also epic build means that there are new additions to the next build of FD. And most likely its not just 5 more systems to explore. I think this build will bring more than that. Hope I am right and Can't wait!

Coming from War Thunder with head tracking and functioning cockpits. When I played Ed for the first time this weekend the immersion was great until I saw the virtual controls weren't working.

I was actually going to post asking about whether it would be possible for them to add it. When your used to seeing the stick, throttle and rudder pedals move with your actions in other games you take it for granted and don't really notice. Right up until you play in a game with 3d cockpits where everything is static. Then it really stands out.

Shock! Twitter beats traditional marketing channels to the scoop!

Horror! Brand new trade show "reveal" of latest build goes out on Twitter first!

You're surprised, in 2014? :)

PS. I'm not a Twitter kind of guy. Old fart. But I do acknowledge the sea change in information flow these days... grudgingly... Now GET OFF MY LAWN!

This has been planned for a long time. It sounds like we are getting it soon, however, which was not known.

I think maybe a few more systems, but I wouldn't hope for lots more. In his answers to readers in the last newsletter, Braben sounded like he wants to keep the area of space small for now. Probably to force a useful level of player contact to continue testing the networking issues, amongst other reasons which also include certain multi-player game-play aspects, is my guess.

I've got an Elite Twitter list with Kerrash and Ambassador Wookie on it too. https://twitter.com/bwoodward/lists/officially-elite

I've been a bit crap so far... Hopefully I'll get better at it tomorrow. Loud swearing accompanied me having my first peek in the lakon with OR :D. Definitely look out for stuff tomorrow, it will be well worth it!

Looking forward to both them and you both keeping us in the loop (as much as possible) ...soon! :D

Obviously I failed at conveying sarcasm. For the record, I was attempting to be sarcastic.

For those that missed it, see my twitter feed. ;)

I was attempting sarcasm. Sorry. If you are too, I missed the tweet ;)

The in game controls responding to user input is a very welcomed detail. One of my favorite PB "things" are all the many supple details in the game.

If you're using a right handed HOTAS perhaps... what if you're using a keyboard and mouse, left-hand joystick, or gamepad? Just looks silly then and creates a disconnect between what you're feeling and what you're seeing IMHO.

I played Wing Commander for about 10 minutes on the back of loving the original Elite and remember dumping it straight away because I hated seeing the screen avatar holding a joystick when I wasn't!
