Ship Transfer Costs - These Prices are Nutty!

Some other examples - an Anaconda 750k for a 1 system jump, a Vulture 810k for 160 light years. This is far, far from chump change, especially if you want to use often...i just don't think this is usable in any sustainable way.

Isn't this a facility the use of which should be encouraged? So it's easier to take part in CGs, for example? So we will explore more?

ANd I don't think it was ever indended to be used in a sustainable way...it is a QoL improvement, not a new game meta.

Transfering an Anaconda costs much more than transfering a Cobra. Hmmm. That must mean that flying the Anaconda either requires a bigger crew, or that it has a much smaller jump range, yeah? No? But it takes exactly the same amount of time. Oh, strike that then. I have no idea what's going on.

It could be a good time to get the Hauler.

take your big ship to were you want it base. and then call up Hauler to take you home

First off, there was a FD poll on ship transfer time. And instantaneous lost. So pro or con, that's what we got.

As for the price, I'm on the fence. It seems that the "around the Bubble" price is a little high. Shouldn't there already be ship moving industries in place? Other wise how do all the new ships get to all the stations?

For the Jacques station transfer price, I'm not bothered by it. If you're gonna to be a "settler", you should go prepared. That means credits too.

My plan is to fly my Cutter with SLF to Jacques, then move my Mining Clipper, Multi purpose Python, and Long range Asp. Gonna be fun!

I made myself an engineered hauler. It's very cheap to transfer, jumps far, cheap to buy. I use it to go get the ship I actually want. Then transfer the hauler back. That's my solution.

1.5 billion to get my Cutter to Jaques and it will take two and a half days in real time.

Just remember it would have cost more than that on the original plan, an instant ship call. If wanting a mega-ship at Jacques, suggest we'll just have to fly it there (or save up I suppose). How much to order over a Vulture say, to Jacques once you get there? (Still an exceptional case mind, Jacques is a long way out)

Nice try but next time don't forget to mention the distance involved.

Also @OP, are you complaining about 250k cr, in a game where the least 'challenging' activities can net you ten million an hour?

A couple of thoughts on that:

- we don't know whether we will be able to net 10 millions per hour in this update (haven't been to Ceos/Sothis yet)
- if i did earn that much (which i don't) I wouldn't particularly want to spend it on transfer of ships...i'd rather spend it on new ships, new modules, engineers etc. so i can go out and explore, fight and trade - you know, have fun. Isn't this what the game should be about?
- I'm not advocating free - i'm advocating sensible where sensible should encompass wide accessibility. To my mind, these prices are a magnitude out.

Thanks

Anyone tried modules yet? I'm curious if they go with the same pricing scheme which would make Class 6 and above more expensive than some ships.

I agree that ship transfer needs to cost and take time, but it looks a bit overpriced. It will probably be balanced by FDev. At least i hope so or i wont be using it much.

Hi

I had read about it on the beta forums, and it's true - these prices are completely nutty.

I'm at Jameson the rest of my ships are at Fong W*ng - one small jump away. To transfer my Python is >250,000CR. That's just crazy!

How did we get here? From instant travel, something we want the masses to engage in so that we can enjoy more gameplay to something that takes a while and costs so much that only the very wealthy will not seriously have to think about using.

I just don't get it!

Thanks.

PS Great job on releasing 2.2 overall
Would they have gone with instant it would have been even more expansive. 250k for a python is peanuts.

What a great idea! And I've got one knocking around Ray Gateway.

Surely transferring the hauler back will be as cheap as chips?
