Beluga cost on live server

K-Rose, are you suggesting the FD has released another badly thought out ship? Surely not! ;)
It would be nice if they got someone from the aeronautical department of any Uni to help them with ship design. I was designing more viable craft at approx age 11 ( I wish that was a joke)

It's fine, it'll go through one of Sandro's "balance passes" in 12 months time ;)

I'm not talking about better shields, I'm talking about functional shields.
It's just wrong.
During testing I grazed the mailslot and lost a ring of shields. I barely touched. That's when I decided the Beluga was in for a rough go. Passenger missions get attacked, too. It's not gonna be pretty.

The Orca has 192t capacity, the Beluga over 330t. Not sure what your point is...

Look at the hull mass. His point is the ship is the same mass, yet has compromised (and locked) internals. Yes it should be more expensive, and yes it should be closer to the other large ships, since it is one.

It isn't even close. It's largest slot is class 6; an A-rated class 6 shield has an optimal mass below the hull mass and max mass is below the laden weight.

Apart from arguing, for the sake of arguing about any topic at all, do you have an actual point?

Think of the Beluga as an ocean liner. It's not a warship.

Queen Mary II, is 30 knots capable. That's the same speed as a modern aircraft carrier. They could pretty much have a drag race. Passenger vessels have typically been record setters for transatlantic trips for the vast percentage of our recorded history.

An Ocean Liner is fast, has good range and will leave most cargo vessels for dead. Frontier has about as much grasp of maritime history and the performance of her many and varied ship types, as pretty anything else at this point. As do, perhaps, a fair few people commenting. :)

Elite ships are based on actual oceanic ship classes. Beluga is basically the QM II of her day. It should be fast, luxurious, very good range. I guess one out of three isn't bad, I suppose?

If only there was some way I could find out this sort of info quickly & pass it off as my own knowledge!

.. not sure what this means, so I'll assume it's a bit of a fumbled attempt at humor. I have read books sometimes. Some of them were maritime related. I was into boats as a kid. :)

No reputation ranks.

I'm disappointed with the Beluga. I was hoping for a passenger vessel that would rival the Cutter/Conda/Corvette trio.

It's one of the largest ships in the game, it should cost 150M+ and have a lot better internals.

As it is there's little to no jump from the Orca to the Beluga.

I now expect the Dolphin will come in for 45M, rather than a sensible 15-20M

You make no sense. You say the Beluga should cost more and that it should then rival the cutter/corvette/conda.

Then you argue that they will make the Dolphin cost the same as the Orca because they will price it worth more then it's worth.

Also, you are under the delusions that the Beluga is designed the same as the other ships. It is not.

Beluga does that to people. To be fair. "Huh?" features strongly in the "how does it work, then?" thought process. Beluga is an overgrown Orca with pretty much the same basic internals, same basic reduced FSD capability and hilariously the same tiny fuel tank, until it was fixed.

We have a ton of ships to choose from; Beluga is probably not the best knife in the draw for passenger missions, and I think frontier seem to be okay with that. Whether or not commanders are, remains to be seen, now that it's gone live.

i Saw that the cabin passangers can be fitted on any ship ? im in sothis right now and there are like 4 missions to transport around 20 passangers to the center and back for around 200 mil credits.... can i fit my asp exp for that or i need a beluga?

I THINK WE FOUND THE NEW MONEYMAKER!

I'm saying that the Beluga is so close to the Orca in internals & price, despite the huge difference in size, that the Dolphin will be the same, but on the other side of the price bracket.

What country makes modern aircraft carriers that only do around 30 knots?
