Yep, all in glorious multicolour 3d puffy cloud vision.
Huzzah!

sadly, no... still to much Dr Who, less realism :-(
Less realism?!
Do you have a source that accurately depicts faster than light travel?
I can live with the popping star, it might be realistic at these speeds.
But what bothers me are the stars around which give me impression that I am jumping through half of the galaxy.
I hoped they remove this with the target star visibility. It makes absolutely no sense.
A perfect transition would look like entering the low wake while seamless morphing to the new skybox. Passing only the few stars you would really see on your way.
Honestly, you're in witch space, not hyperspace.. or something. I don't know the lore 100%. There aren't any giant gas clouds between you and your destination (in most cases) either so I'd assume those points of light passing your cockpit are an artifact of witch space itself, not stars being passed during the jump.
I always seem to be the only person that loves the "WAMPOW!" and sudden rushing appearance of the Star/Station after the transition. Really kicks me right in the sci-fi glands. Love it.

ITT, people who apparently understand the mechanics behind hyperspace travel and FTL drives.
How does frame shift work, again?
Plx, tell me more about how an FTL drive should behave...
It's supposed to be the target star. It's been mentioned in the official ED live streams.
