So you want to know about the Formidine Rift? (Part 3)

No raxxla, no hidden colonies, no updates from salome, no prism system wreck/shipyard.

Alien stuff which is in where it is expected closer to bubble, nothing new on the formidine rift, minimal at jaques and the rest of the galaxy apart from volcanoes and stuff nothing new

unless theres ome CGs and clue hunting and galnet planned, they could just make any wrecks non lockable like current wrecks. That could be the prism graveyard. Things are going to get interesting

But mah immershun!!

I want a ship made out of whatever graveyard ships are made of.

Edit
Then you've got to think about ramming. Take a 'conda there and push all the ships into one big 'pile'. Break the 'laws of physics' and the immersion crowd scream blue murder.

I believe I've found something in Formidine... A bug [big grin]

It seems that some black squares are not rendered, even in the game. If you go to Hypheeg WF-A c16-1, and look at Hypheeg BX-P B37-0, you will see this black dot (inside the yellow circle):

Same thing I got in Eafots OH-C C13-4. Mine was in the direction of the Skull and Crossbones nebula, and travelling towards it for a good while in SC, didn't make it any bigger or more detailed.

Seeing artifacts in the galaxy map when moving it real quick, is a Known issue. I've never seen such a glitch being consistently visible in the actual skybox of a system before though. So yeah, I say we bug report it.

its been 2 and half pages of download updates. Can you move non alien science to another thread? Only get 15 minute breaks and dont want to dig through topics unrelated to the thread.

We do tend to go off topic when there isn't anything to actually report and that is a good thing. There was a time, not long ago, when this thread nearly died because of a lack of "on topic" discussion. If the occasional diversion into a chat about download speeds is the only thing keeping the conversation moving then, on behalf of unit cohension, I'm all for it.

It's not going to happen until FDev figure out a way that the first idiot cmdr doesn't just blow all the ships to pieces.

I guess they could go with procedural generated non-persistent instance (akin to planetary rings or asteroid fields) that way you can blow or push what whatever you want and if you leave instance it will reset plus you cant screw the game for anybody else (except other players in same instance). Any special ships they can solve like persistent or randoe POIs

I'm 30kLY out, on my way back from the 'eastern' galactic rim - gonna look at some geysers on my way home.

Don't forget to check straight-sers too. Remember discrimination prevention starts at home.

Forgive my English, there may be some mistakes, I didn't correct it.

That's not immersion; that's being a troll. I think FD can tell the difference between them.

After all, tourist beacons can't be destroyed [I think... has anyone tried...for science?], and nobody yells

I know people have shot up Nav Beacons, though I forget the result.

The Graveyard is going to need to be interesting enough that the Elite die-hards are impressed, but also 'real' enough that they don't feel like it's 'unrealistic'. Probably needs to be at least partly interactive - RPGs always let you click on gravestones to read the inscriptions - so a fixed layout of inert ship models ain't going to cut it.

I'm happy for them to take their time and do something that's actually worth visiting - though I'm not expecting the Old Woman's Cobra to start broadcasting clues when we scan it.

Short of scanning all the settled systems in the core, its going to be a wait and see until first reports of someone who stumbles across something come in, or Fdev create a fake account and plant the information

There's hope and then there's expectations.

Were we not flat out told the Tionisla Graveyard would be in 2.2?

Or was the phrase post 2.2? The second coming is post 2.2, the heat death of the universe is post 2.2 as is porcine aviation.

As always round here hopes dashed, expectations exceeded.

I know that my expectation had been graveyard in 2.2 but Drew confirmed somewhere in this thread that it wouldn't be until AFTER 2.2

I'm still hopeful that it will be a pre 3.0 feature, but who knows?

I for one hope to see at least one Cobra Mk 1 when it does go live.
