This is a Joke.

Had this happen to me twice too!

It seems very OP for the station to insta-kill you on the way out of docking. I hope they tone this down a bit (either passenger not considered illegal on exiting first station or only have NPC ships fire on you, not station)...

Here's me replying: Where's my joke?
.
I can tell you the funny part: the posting just after you also reported that the same Thing happened to him. So if others who had the same effect also add in more info on the parameters under which it happened, we might be on track to find this bug.
.
On the funny part, though: i guess you'll make the second entry on my ignore list. Enjoy.
.

I think the fact that their are a few similar posts of people performing passenger missions for the first time and getting blown up by the station due to them not reading the mission hinting that some passengers might be wanted in some systems might be more a likely explanation than a "bug" you saw once 1.5 years ago.

Yeah.. But OP was clean. Also he was not scanned before getting killed.. How is one supposed to know before taking on a mission like this?

Yeah you're right - actually time I added him also.

So, yesterday update @12h30 GMT, today @6h28 AM you had everything ?
It's obvious you should close the game !
My advice is "live a little bit of real life" [smile][noob][smile][noob]....[smile][noob].... :p

Two very typical reactions of this community. I find it impossible to tell you how wrong you are, but i dare to say, my current line of work is software test and your attitude would make you a liability on this job. One of the most important things in my line of work is that if you notice "anything strange" it gets written down, no matter how obscure the effect is and how hard it is to reproduce. By collecting and evaluating similar "something strange" reports, we managed to eliminate a number of well hidden and rarely occuring glitches. So what the OP did was the correct thing to do. He encountered an effect which seemed to have been wrong, possibly a bug. He wrote down what he experienced and tried to eliminate some possible causes for the issue he experienced. He only made three mistakes:
.
1. While some Happenings in the games development trigger a sarcastic tone, it should be avoided when reporting a bug.
2. He has put it into the general discussion section, instead of filing a bug report. This might be a knowledge thing, but considering that the bug report section quite often seems to be the place were bug reports go to die, i can also somehow understand this decission.
3. He put it in a place where this community can reply on it. No further explanation needed on this.
.

I suggest you read the thread carefully and you'll learn that I agreed it could be a bug. I also said it could be something else. Maybe you find it impossible to tell me how wrong I am because there isn't much you have to say about it?

Hmm, yes. You at a later posting agreed that it might be a bug. That doesn't change my criticism on the first posting which i quoted, where the whole reaction was along the line "no bug, i did not experience it yet so you must do it wrong". I could be sorry for not crosschecking the thread that you later admitted that bugs are possible in content which was released less than a day ago, but my actual point stands and the two posings i quoted were just representative what i experience a lot on these forums: putting blame first on the people who experience a problem, instead of acknowledging that there migth be a problem.

"Usual Disappointment"

This line was the closing factor of this thread. If you are "usually" disappointed, why are you still playing?

Also, the mail-slot scans you.. It's how the pick-up on illegal cargo in your hold.

I was going to ask for more details, or suggest you put in a ticket. But.. I won't bother.

Read the part where he said "He was not scanned". Sounds like a bug. Obviously not the same as having a wanted passenger and being scanned.

Same thing happened to me... twice. Tourism isn't likely to recoup that 17million credit loss at that rate. Has to be a bug. Think maybe I'll put the passenger missions on hold and fly something with a little lower insurance cost for a bit.

Make sure the passengers dont get you wanted!

By reading the mission text, that says in big red letters that the passenger is wanted in multiple systems.

Beluga heat is a JOKE! Stock straight out of Founders. Engineer upgrades - specifically Grade 5 FSD upgrade make no difference. The silly ship overheats on every jump. I had the same build in Beta with Dirty drives and never overheated - so it's not the modules as they are the same.

And for the "people" that think that because someone doesn't have screen shots or video there isn't a problem - here is a Twitch highlight of my broadcast last night showing it. It's 38 minutes long: https://www.twitch.tv/r3per_/v/97237298 The entire broadcast is 3 hours and 41 minutes if you need additional proof: https://www.twitch.tv/r3per_/v/97148131

I really hope they fix the heat issue - Yes IT's AN ISSUE! - AGAIN - had the exact same loadout in Beta - so IT's NOT THE MODULES.

You are still wrong, re-read again.

To those that think that the slot doesn't scan you, that's not true. It keeps an eye on all ships to make sure that they don't loiter. I know of a scenario where a player buys a new big ship and attempts to leave the station. Not used to the size of the ship, the commander gets it a bit stuck because his ship isn't 100% in line with the slot. He thought he could fly out from any angle, like he could in a Python. The red 30 second countdown starts. The commander wiggles his ship this way and that and eventually gets free just after the countdown finished. 30 seconds is not very long to wiggle you ship out once it gets stuck. Boom!

I seem to remember that happening to a certain commander D8veh when he got his first Anaconda. The first two exits went OK, but not the third.

How does this fit?

Well, you have to make a guess as to what happened.

1) The OP experienced a bug. There is no evidence of it, nor does it seem to happen to many other people.
2) The OP messed up like many others did, including me (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/300689-Beware-of-wanted-passengers)
One of these options would be very rare, the other is very common. There is no evidence of the rare thing, and lots of evidence for the common thing. The ranting nature of the OP does make me lean a bit more towards user error than rare bug. Your appraisal could be different ofcourse, and if he really cared he could just drop a ticket rather than throw a passive-aggresive tantrum on the forums.

Im sitting in my Baluga. Ive spent hours getting the right modules, the right Engineered FSD. EVERYTHING.

Ive just flown about 200 LY away to find a nice new tourist Hotspot.

I load up my passengers make sure none of them are illegal.

I dont have the Wanted sign, so all is clear.
I proceed out of the mailslot and i get insta killed by the station. And you want to know the worst part?

I wasnt. Even. Scanned.

So now i have to fork out 8 million in rebuys!

Closed the game immedietly to go play something worth my time. What happened right here was typical Elite Dangerous, just the usual dissapointment.

That's not a joke. Or at least, not a funny one.
This is a joke...
What's orange and weighs 400 lbs?
A Satsumo wrestler! :D
OK, maybe that one wasn't all that funny either, but at least it had a punchline.
