"Independent reports from the Maia system indicate that a Farragut-class Battlecruiser has taken up position over Maia A 3 a, not far from the personal research base of Professor Ishmael Palin. The Federal vessel is apparently redirecting pilots who stray too close to the site.
The news comes only days after Professor Palin announced a breakthrough in his research into meta-alloys.
The purpose of the deployment is not immediately apparent, but rival political powers have been quick to condemn the act. Alliance Prime Minister Edmund Mahon described it as "an egregious act of oppression" while Emperor Arissa Lavigny-Duval said, "The Federation has an obligation to immediately curtail any restriction of Professor Palin's personal freedoms."
Attempts to contact Professor Palin have been unsuccessful."

Heres the new theory.
In the pic below, you see that I have placed ancient wotsits on the ground pads. I am now trying to get a reaction from the spinning circle block to totems, orbs etc...
I believe this whole thing is a giant machine that we can activate.
Also notice this area has two triangle "Server farm" formations between two pyramids. I believe there is a connection.

Wait, does anyone have the symbol from the barnacles? It might be similar to the view from above the ancient site.

Now, the frontpage just refers to triangulation from the trailer.. sooo, if there are more sites out there, (are there?) any other likely approach as to how to find them?
And.. i tried to find it in this thread but how exactly did you identify the system? It's so curiously far out there. Just trying to figure out an approach how to find more things.. also very curios how we were actually supposed to find the site(s) without the luck-trailer-break.

I looks a lot like an activation puzzle, but I have no idea on how to do it.
I'm 5kly away, so I will not be doing any tests there in a while.
Just did a quick comparison between the two, barnacle symbol (as found in Google images search) and the overhead photo of the new Relic site (from page 79) and they appear 'very' similar to me.
Ps My brother wingmate and myself quit our search this morning at 1am grrrrrrr, well done xdeath !

First night.... flying passengers till 1am
Second night... (now very tired after doing a grownup job during the daytime) gets joined by brother and buddy to form a wing make our way to Syn' system planet 1b .... find a POI, turns out to be a crashed ship with escape pods laying about... orientates with moon overhead continues search patern ( bro flyin ahead in his new Taipan) .....1am now, Very Very tired, save and quit the game 10 minute before Cmdr xdeath discovery.
Well done FD two very enjoyable evenings ( alas sat at work now reading this forum and doing worky stuff eyes really aching lol ).

I'm still there and the ambience sounds are amazing. I destroyed some relics to see if they did something but just a little "boom" and nothing more. Scanned all monoliths and all of those "antennas" and now the site looks as sterile as it can get.
Waiting for those Thargoids now...come and get me.

I think you may find a simultaneous response is needed. So 3 SRVs each one at one of the points of the triangle to start and then the obelisks. Operating together, you may trigger what's needed.
Could be that solving this requires multiple commanders..
10+ CMDRS in the same instance = Everything failure
a kerbal here?
