Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 9 - The Canonn

I think someone else must have said it as well but I think it might be worth mentioning incase.

They look a lot like what the soontil are ment to be.
In fact I would argue it could be the same race. so maybe the soontil relic is the key. or might give us a clue

I linked the Soontill Galnet earlier today. The description fits well.
Perhaps Elvira can help?

Here's the summary of what I've seen, pls. let me know if I have anything wrong:

- We saw 3 Ancient Pillars which rise out of the ground as you approach. There was a 4th which appears marked as "Ancient Relic" (can you shoot the pillar and collect the relic? Should you?? If you do, is the pillar then just marked as "Ancient Pillar" again. 3 of the pillars appear to be in a straight line. (reference to Orion's Belt?)

- There are groups of shorter, stockier obelisks, some of which are active/illuminated with green light. If you scan the active obelisks, you receive ancient civilisation data and other types, tagged Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta and Epsilon (though I couldn't find Beta).

- If you're in a Wing and wing members approach (or target?) the pillars, their wing symbol appears by the pillar. In retrospect, this might just be a standard Wings feature: do you see what your fellow Wing members have targeted? We tried simultaneously scanning 3 Ancient Pillars and nothing happened. Another Cmdr on this thread tried scanning all 4, also nothing.

- There are also groups of destructible brown rocks on top of a patch of ground which is covered in luminous green substance. Various items spawn here*

- I did notice a POI very close to the structure, I don't know if it's persistent. Another Cmdr posted on this thread there's loud noise in a nearby crater, might be the same location?

- Triangles and hexagons are everyone on the site.

Bugs
* the items that spawn around the rocks weren't spawning in Group for me, though others said they did in Solo.
- I scanned the ancient civilisation data several times, and each time I got the new material animation but I never got anything for it and the animation plays each time. I cleared out my Data and Materials in case it was too near to being full, but no change.

What if the pillar containing the relic is a clue, and there needs to be a relic on all 4 pillars? Fuel source perhaps?

And by the way, how does the game work for you at this ancient structure? Because for me loading screens (when entering game or dropping from super cruise) are much longer and I got one crash and now was disconnected from the server. Few ships and game already stops working?

Whole site looks a lot like ITER to me...

There are supposedly multiple alien ruin sites, correct?

Or do I have the wrong idea?

Yes, I think there are multiple alien ruin sites.
.
Barnard's Loop doesn't look the same from Synuefe xr-h d11-102 when compared with that movie of an alien ruin site.

some thoughts on the moving triangle pictures.

Ok so there are 3 pictures with two groups of triangles using 2 colors, now i look at these and to me it looks like a representation of 3 locks that are all locked, to be unlocked the triangles have to be split into colors, as to what alters these lock states i would say its something to do with the new bits the ball urn and so on.

Go to -31.7877 on that heading then get -128.9711 on the other.

Co-ords should look like this on the hud:
-31.7877
-128.9711

From the first page here. The co-ords were flipped in today's patch I think.

Yup I realised there really is no -128. I just looked at the planet image on page 1 and flew around till I recognised the craters.

Seems to be what we are all thinking, prior to triangulating the star positions, I went to Soontill to search. I intend on heading back there.

This description: "they do not quite align with known Thargoid materials. Whatever they are, they are indeed very old, with isotopic dating indicating that they could well be tens of thousands of years old"

It just sound about right. :)

I agree.
Those Ruins could be a "shadow" of the ancient Soontill mystery. Maybe we are seeing the remnants of Soontill Civilization... and maybe they were/are The Guardians.
What about Raxxla?

Wonder if xdeath will turn up in Drew's next installment

I was thinking more 'hill fort'

At opposite ends of the spectrum there, aren't we! :)

Interesting that there are breaches in the perimeter. It makes it look as though ground access was required. If the site was a puzzle, why the need for gaps in the wall. Why is there a wall at all?

Remind me, does that little orange and while symbol normally come up when you scan something? It just looks a bit like some of the ruins when seen from above.

EDIT: also, is anyone else looking at the three objects on the main raised circle and thinking Hyperspace gates... Raxxla?

The Glyph and its meaning?

Have I missed it amongst the pages and pages ...

Has anyone got a clear idea of the meaning of the spectrograph glyph yet?

To my eyes the ground layout of the ruins bears a startling resemblance to the central sphere glyph?
