Scanned an obelisk with in hold: Ancient Tablet + Ancient Totem → I haven't been scanned back
Scanned an obelisk with in hold: Ancient Urn + Ancient Relic → I haven't been scanned back
Scanned an obelisk with in hold: Ancient Casket + Ancient Orb → I haven't been scanned back

I scanned the "towers" as well with these.

Yes, but then the objects found there should have been relatively new. If a gen ship left Sol in about 2200 it should use about a thousand years to go 400ly. That would give them a hundred years to make this technology, abandon it and have it seem ancient. The design does not look human 2200 either. :D

didnt they go 0.6C? That was the speed of the Mayflower 97

So arrival at some time in 2900, that is 400 years time experienced by the passengers to advance technology, with 0.6C time dilation and 400 years left to present on world, which means they could have died off or left 100 or 200 years ago

Oh and I'm far too far away to be of any use at this but every bit in the puzzle gamer part of me says we should try putting all those objects on that most raised platform where there's a focus. Apologies if I've missed someone trying that in the excitement

Err...

Had a look around, and im beginning to think its a buried spaceship. Look at all the fine detail in the soil itself - the squares, lines whatnot. Almost like power conduits.

What do u think?

Top speed 0.6C (from FFE information). Acceleration and deceleration will take a lot of time. Average speed will be less.

Gen ships were looking for Earth likes. I doubt they would stick around a useless moon for long enough to invent, build and abandon something like this.

So is that the mystery of 2.2 solved now? Or are there more of these things on other planets across the galaxy? It'll be a shame if the whole thing was done in less than a week.

Here's the summary of what I've seen, pls. let me know if I have anything wrong:

- We saw 3 Ancient Pillars which rise out of the ground as you approach. There was a 4th which appears marked as "Ancient Relic" (can you shoot the pillar and collect the relic? Should you?? If you do, is the pillar then just marked as "Ancient Pillar" again. 3 of the pillars appear to be in a straight line. (reference to Orion's Belt?)

- There are groups of shorter, stockier obelisks, some of which are active/illuminated with green light. If you scan the active obelisks, you receive ancient civilisation data and other types, tagged Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta and Epsilon (though I couldn't find Beta).

- If you're in a Wing and wing members approach (or target?) the pillars, their wing symbol appears by the pillar. In retrospect, this might just be a standard Wings feature: do you see what your fellow Wing members have targeted? We tried simultaneously scanning 3 Ancient Pillars and nothing happened. Another Cmdr on this thread tried scanning all 4, also nothing.

- There are also groups of destructible brown rocks on top of a patch of ground which is covered in luminous green substance. Various items spawn here*

- I did notice a POI very close to the structure, I don't know if it's persistent. Another Cmdr posted on this thread there's loud noise in a nearby crater, might be the same location?

- Triangles and hexagons are everyone on the site.

Bugs
* the items that spawn around the rocks weren't spawning in Group for me, though others said they did in Solo.
- I scanned the ancient civilisation data several times, and each time I got the new material animation but I never got anything for it and the animation plays each time. I cleared out my Data and Materials in case it was too near to being full, but no change.

Thanks rizal72 for update.

I hoped alien archaeology will be on Merope 5c, so then we would know why UAs/UPs points to it, but that would be too easy... :p
So one important conclusion - UAs/UPs does not point to Merope 5C because there are alien structures.* Or maybe it will be more accurate to write that alien structures are not what makes Merope 5C so special, that UAs/UPs point to it.
And probably there is more than one alien structure so this would make no sense anyway.

We can only say that the UP doesn't point at Merope 5c because of this particular alien rune, but we knew that anyway because the skybox and planets seen in the trailer don't match Merope.

So is that the mystery of 2.2 solved now? Or are there more of these things on other planets across the galaxy? It'll be a shame if the whole thing was done in less than a week.

There are things from 2.1 we have not yet got (perhaps, maybe, said a very groggy Michael in the 2.2 celebration livestream) Apparently we might have missed something very big...

This image right here! credit to alexVII that symbol looks very familiar to the start up sequence of your engines when your on a planet!

Theory time,

The ruins are an outpost of a precursor civilisation that lived in our galaxy millions of years ago or,
it is the ruin of an outpost/military base of an advanced Kardashev scale level 2 or 3 civilisation that moved to another galaxy.

Unless they stumbled across something that gave them a boost - negative space wedgie, hitched a lift from Thargoids, whatever. At 0.6c, they wouldn't be *that* far outside the bubble, even if they never stopped to investigate a possible home - we'd be tripping over them by now...
As for this place, I'm prepared to accept they had to pull over for repairs or the like.
(Or it's nothing to do with the gen ships at all)

I don't think so.

Both the blue lights and the dark metallic material are similar to what we find on the UA.

That does not mean they are from the same source. One could have evolved or been inspired by the other.

It all reminds me of this: https://community.elitedangerous.com/galnet/18-MAY-3301

We can't rule it out yet but I don't think the ruins and the UAs/UPs look similar in style at all. The colours don't match closely enough, and the textures and shapes don't either. Until there is other evidence, my theory is that they are unrelated.
