Ok the reason I ask the question is because it is a direct competition CG with it effectively being Empire vs Feds, and only Horizon federal aligned players can join in due to them being based on a planet whilst the empire players are based in space allowing all of there player base to take part.

Discuss :)

It's the CG in Maia at the moment, it's a conflict CG but the fed hand in point is on the ground whilst imps is in space cutting off part of the player base in my opinion. I don't think it is deliberate just an oversight but the question remains. Could they be bias, making one side easier to win than the other?

I think as long as FD introduce a CG that has the reverse situation soon then it's fine.

Imperials always lose these CGs, so they're trying to even the odds. Without 1.7 players fighting for the Federation, maybe the imperials have a chance this time.

Not

"Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity,"

But yea, a bit uneven. Could have put Emp one at Darnielle's Progress, or maybe the imperial base that was recently constructed in a nearby system (whichever it was). It could be the other way around at another CG though...

Why is the mob calling specifically for Imperial pilots anyway? Shouldn't they call for independent pilots? Or "any pilot's opposed to the Federation" or something?

Yeah I think it's a balancing act because the feds normally win because they're the best. So basically the empire gets a leg up because they need it.

Not

Or it could be a way to drive sales of Horizons in the (larger) player group who may not have adopted it yet.

The CGs are the Federation's Pleiades Resource Enterprise vs the Independent Anarchy the Ant Hill Mob, contesting the control of the Maia system.

Where is the Imperial Faction involved?

I very much doubt that anyone would buy Horizons based off of one CG.

Possibly, but I just now got an email ad for Horizons.... And I may or may not pick it up so I can go stomp the Emp.

I assume they're just helping the Mob for the sake of hampering Fed expansion. The Empire already have a military presence in the system so I guess they have some kind of understanding.

That's what I've been trying to figure out. Haven't heard anything about the Ant Hill Mob dropping their independent status and pitching their tent in anyone's backyard. Heck even Mahon tried awhile back and they wanted to have none of that.

At this point it looks like the only way the Feds have a chance to beat Independants, is to make it look like it's the Imperials or Alliance so people won't fight. ;) We all know what happened the last time the Federation fought against Independants. They lost a president, a Farragut, the war and their pride. It's even been immortalized in the game with a new tourist attraction beacon.

Every Super Power has a faction presence in Maia, and there are several other Independents, so my question is my is it a Federation vs Independent being touted as Federation vs Empire.

And why is no one else opposing the Federation's PRE securing control of all the Pleiades?

And lets say the Ant Hill Mob wins, does that mean they will secede control of Maia to the Merope Expeditionary force?
For will the system stay an Independent Anarchy, in which case what does the Empire gain?
If it is Empire vs Feds as advertised?
