7D & 6D Fighter Bays - how are they different?

Like the topic says, I was shopping for a fighter bay and both the 7D and 6D bays allow for 2 fighters.
The description regarding 7D makes no sense to me, it mentions 30 different allowable fighters?
Can someone shed some light as to why one would buy 7D?

When a fighter is destroyed the fighter bay rebuilds a new one. In this case the 7D can build 30 replacements.

Sweet, my conda can poop out an army of baby's... 1 at a time?
Yup. When one is destroyed, there's a bit of delay while the next is being assembled.

So, the size 6 bay holds 16 fighters, and can store 2 different types.

Size 7 holds 30+ but still only two different types?

Wait, what?
Size 6 allows you to stock 16 fighters at a time?
Can you tell i'm new to the fighter mech?

You can have two different fighter loadouts, and build 7 replacements for each loadout. The 70 allows for 15 replacements for each loadout.

There are three different fighter bay classes. These are 5D, 6D and, 7D.

The 5D has one ready slot and parts for 5 replacement fighters.

The class 6D and 7D both have two ready slots with 7 or 14 spares for each slot respectively.

The advantage of the Class 6&7 over the Class 5 is that with two ready slots you can immediately launch the second slot while the first is assembling a new fighter.

Has anyone spent some time in a CZ with fighters? Do you really need 28 spares if you let the AI do the flying? I am just thinking that the class 7 slot on a corvette can be better used for SCB.
