Mode switching from VR to standard and back

Hi everyone, I'm having trouble launching Elite in standard monitor mode since I got an Oculus last week. Every time I fire Elite up it launches Oculus. Sometimes I jsut want to play it on my monitor so I can watch the hockey game at the same time. And I don't always want to have to fight through the Galaxy Map. Is there an easy way to switch modes so it'll launch one way or the other as I please? I downloaded Dr. Kaii's launcher, but regardless of whether I picked Default 2D or default VR. It just launched Oculus.

Try stopping the Oculus VR Runtime Service. Task Manager -> Services tab. This will prevent the Oculus app from running - so long as 3D is set to Off the game should start in 2D.

I use Dr. Kaii's just to change the settings only. Launch from oculus home desktop app by right click on ed in the library and pick "start in desktop mode"
