Horizons Generator Mission - ??

So I have trained myself in the basics of SRVs and picked up a Kill the generator mission. Problem is that when I get there the generators are on a 2nd level with only ramp access. Each ramp is blocked by a force field.

I accessed each data access point and destroyed all turrets that I can target, but nothing.

I even got back in the ship and tried to land on 2nd level. I launched my fighter and as I approached I heard, "Under attack" then I blew up = one shot.

What am I missing?

Anyone have any suggestions for this? I researched, but no one mentions the 2nd level nor the force fields.

Depending on the gravity of the planet, I have been able to speed up the ramps at an angle and then hit the vertical thrust to either jump over, or to the side, of the barrier thereby getting around it. A bit messy, don't know if there is a proper way to do it!
Also, can you destroy the generator from your ship? I think you can and still complete the mission.

also, some of the walls that dont look like you should be able to drive up, you actually can.

you sometimes have to do a little "hop" to get your vehicle on the wall before driving up.

dont forget if boost jumping, 4 pipps to eng, it makes a big difference. Are you certain none of the generators are more exposed, or at least shootable from ground level?

perhaps you are just at a really secure base, but for the most part i have always found at least 1 exposed one./

I believe scanning a data point drops the field for a period, it's been a while since I did such a mission.

I tried the booster jump, but I'll try it at another ramp this time.

No angles to the generators as they are hidden in the middle of the base. I tried using a Condor with Beams, but I cannot target lock them and cannot see if I am doing any damage.

The data points have a timer, but I zipped around and looked at two force fields.....both were still up.

Does anyone know what the official way to complete these missions are?

I will make my fourth trip there this weekend with a different ship.

You can't target the generators from the ship, but you CAN destroy them. For example by dumbfire missiles.
So if you know where to look for them, you don't have to get into your SRV at all.

Also, the forcefields only come up when you trigger the alarm. So if your're sneaky about it and start from the inner-most generator, the forcefields won't be an issue.

And if everything goes south, there still always seems to be a way around the fields. You just have to find something that will serve you as a ramp for the jump. It can be hard on the bigger bases, though, as they have lots of defenses and you are constantly under pressure. TBH I don't do the +++ bases alone. It's too hard and I'm not that good at driving and shooting at the same time.
