So very mad with combat and CG's

Find a CZ with players on your side and steal some kills. Soloing CZ has become practically impossible for me - AI just goes lemming at some point and I either need to bail and repair or get destroyed.

I consider getting chased out after 20 minutes to be fair game.

If you were in a battle with a bunch of comrades and one aircraft on the other side had just shot down fifty of your mates, ganging up on them to take them down with overwhelming firepower before they do any more damage sounds legit to me!

Doesn't sound very helpful for our guy here. I can twiddle thumbs and totally feel legit about that, too. Or eat ice cream - I call that fair game.

Alright two things here:

2) Yes combat zones, even low are very very dangerous to anyone except a heavily modded ship. Enemies have an inexplicable ability to suddenly decide they all want a piece of you turning a casual fight into a 10v1 run away quick situation. I'm experienced, i'm not the best pilot but I've been around and done tons of combat. I tried a Python, an FDL and my Anaconda in RES sites about 3 weeks ago and spent more time running and re-joining the CZ than I did actually fighting. I do believe the enemy agro rate is borked in some way or they've been coded with identical logic so when the switch flips to make you the #1 target it flips for all enemies at once... So the OP may have a point here.

I thought I was paranoid, but now I have confirmation it wasn't so. This was happening to me in 2.1 and this is why I've largely quit seeking action in CZ's. If this is working as intended ... it is not ok. However, it was thrilling. Whenever I feel bored and I want to go against impossible odds, I hit a CZ. It has a certain appeal :).

Yeah ditto, I can confirm it's amazingly good fun in a wing of powerful ships if on voice chat.
Npc's focus agro on a friend and you are there trying to disable as many as possible whilst they do their best to stay alive. Having a neutral "healer" that doesn't pick a faction and has shield regenerating beam lasers and stuff to support the person that gets targeted whilst the remaining 2 mop up is also a good tactic if you have the right ships.

It does exclude them for most people at current though. :(

It's been pretty much always like that since spring last year (when I started out). Ships and AI are just more dangerous now. And when your shields are down, these reworked missiles to your thruster can ruin the day.

CZs are a bit buggy atm, but the mode doesn't seam to matter. What mode I can see the CZ's and what mode I can't see them changed a lot in 2.2, its been under investigation.

As for Survivability the best advice I can give you is that when its not working in your current ship I would try another ship. The Vulture does wonders for me in CZs and he is not all that expansive, at least not compared to a Python. But in the End the key is to pick your location in the CZ and the targets wisley, when you can make sure to always have more greens then Reds around you it should go pretty well.

Ye, but you really gotta be on your toes, because the enemy can spawn right next to you and your green to red ration magically goes *poof*.

That doesn't end too bad when you have lots of friends around you in my expierence, where it can get really bad is when you chase somebody who lures away from your friends. But of course being on your toes all the time is a good thing to do :D

CZs got tougher since 2.1. I used to be able to go into one in my (un-engineered) Vulture and kill until I was bored. I can't do this anymore, and, despite not being able to use them as a go-to income, I'm glad.

As an average pilot, I wouldn't dream of taking an un-engineered Python into a CZ.

I have never had really trouble with friendlies in CZs, yes. Originally I was talking about soloing CZs, though.

I haven't checked into the game in a while - there was one of them Imp-Fed Cgs not too long ago and there was an IMP and a FED CZ. Of course all those nasty PvP players would visit each other, but you just needed to look like an unworthy target and zoom a bit around to do the kill helping. Easy on the rebuy (Viper Missile Attack e.g.) and you can still collect some progress.

My language maybe was bad, when I say friends I mean npc friends :D

looking unworthy works against npcs too I think, they will get less aggro against you when you are in a Eagle then when you are in a Vulture. But not 100% sure about that, so don't nail me on it.

I am pretty sure this is the case, too.

But it does provide content for those in your position.

I applaud this. There needs to be 'end game' content for those with very big sticks. Not everything has to be accessable for every level of player, and this is a great example where it would be detrimental if it were the case.
