Thanks, that could well be it - I had to use the vertical thrusters quite a bit to scoop the alien items from the piles of boulders they were embedded in.

You can shoot the rocks (I didn't though I did the same as you).

Has anyone tried plopping an Unknown Artifact or Unknown Probe near the towers and honking? The site's proximity to the abandoned Thargoid colony on Soontil makes me think they might be enemies.

This eravate code -- if you take 0 as A and 1 as B and so on, they're all star classes.

If we assume that this is some sort of cluster, there are a lot of B class (white) stars in it. Perhaps this refers to a region in some nebula?

so i am back to the game.

actually i am in front of the obelisk and it was bight blue... until i used the scan of the turret... it suddently turned off.

it scares a me a bit, is it ''normal'' ??

Following up on my theory (in truth.. guess work) about the crashed alien ship and the ruins having some connection

Mark on the galatic map the alien ship and the ruins., follow that line out towards the heart and soul nebulas (bit omnious that one) and you get to NGC 281 nebula

Does BD+55 191 fit in anywhere? anyone surveyed it?

Bill

*warning TINFOIL*
going through the thread, I find several comments of honking UP AT SITE doesn´t do some - OK, more or less expected.
Anyone tried to put UP in ORBIT and record / compare the transmissions to the Ammonia-world-transmissions yet ????
*tinfoil off*

add: am sorry I cant do myself, beeing 16KLY corewards of bubble (except checking rocky, tidal-locked binary-planets/moons for ruins :) )

maybe you just know it but there are various obelisks that turns on and they turns off when you scan them.

honestly, everything looks like a complex puzzle to solve.

Alright guys, so I found the Elite Meet system prior to the release of 2.2, and had grand designs of finding the site when 2.2 dropped...but after days of searching with no luck, I think it's about time to bring in some more CMDRs and keep the science moving.

Tl;dr...here's the system you want to be in: COL 173 Sector KY-Q D5-47

It never ceases to amaze me the vast number of incredibly bright minds that exist in this game, being able to find a system from a star map in a washed-out picture. I've seen your name all over this system since CMDR The Lonely Astronaut and CMDR Zunaro led us here two days ago. We've been scouring this system ever since, looking for those ruins and we're also damned sure that they're here as well. If you folks manage to make it here, you'll have representatives from the Paladin Consortium, EXO, The Forgotten, Dark Echo and even Myrmidon scanning planets, so be sure to send an 'o7' if you see us. ;)

Hopefully one of us proves the rest of us right!

There doesn't seem to be a list of tested hypotheses on the front page, so please forgive me if any of these ideas are redundant. This is just what I came up with separate from this forum.

My initial thought (this one operates under the assumption that this is in relation to the crash and probes) was that perhaps some of the items found at this site could be used to repair or otherwise interact with the crashed ship. As a side note, the larger platform appears to be about the right size for a similar craft, if folded up correctly.

My second thought was perhaps to bring a UP to this site, honk it (on the platform?) and see what happens. The UP clearly has the capacity to interact with electrical grids, so perhaps it can be used here.

Another Idea I had was perhaps to activate all of those beacon-looking things that pop out of the ground (and not harvest them) and/or have a commander sit by each of the scannable points. Seeing as how those points light up and "activate" in the presence of commanders, perhaps activating all of them would cause a sufficiently large amount of power to course through the site to reactivate it. It's also worth noting that the scannable totem-things (the ones that award data) seem to emit a sound prior to being scanned.

Finally, I posit that the various items scattered throughout the site have to be useful at some point in this puzzle, as they seem to be deliberately worthless as a commodity (which is odd considering what they are). My take is that we are being actively discouraged from getting rid of these items. While one could make the argument that it's a balancing attempt due to the sheer quantity of the items, it's possible that this decision was made in reverse. It'a possible that they were made worthless for the puzzle, and THEN numerous, in part so that they would be easily accessible for the puzzle and because of their low worth.

I apologize if this wall of text is daunting or rambly, but I sincerely hope it spurs discussion and discovery. Best of luck to you all.

Quick question for those of us looking for more sites on random planets around the galaxy: can the ruin be seen from orbital cruise? Or does it disappear? Cruising at 2500 m/s 15 km above the planet (where it has been confirmed the site is visible) would be easier in my Annie than 190 m/s.

Yep it's know, have a look at the second post there's a list of what we know and a few theories there.

My initial thought

Intriguing

My second thought

Tried, no result

Another Idea I had

Proposed, not sure if anyone's actually got around to it yet.

Finally, I posit that the various items scattered throughout the site have to be useful at some point in this puzzle

Same as above

:D

That's awesome, was wondering if anyone else had figured it out...nicely done! Are any of you on Xbox by chance? Would love to join up.

Have you found another planet in the system that matches the video or are you focused in on 3A as well? Was planning on doing another tour of all of the bodies today to check but if you guys have already done so it may save me a ton of trouble. 3A just looks like a perfect color match with the sun either rising or setting, but I'm pretty sure that if the ruins are actually here, then the orientation of the planet or skybox must've changed from their test servers. I have circled the planet probably 4-5 times between 12-26 degrees north latitude and haven't been able to find it.
