All things Frontier Developments at E3 2014!

Where is all the E3 news then?

Seems that we are getting a few tweets from the community ambassadors or whatever they are and a trailer.

Where are the reports from people on the ground who have played this build and can tell us some news, Don't you get to play the game with a dev over your shoulder to ask questions to?

More is probably coming, remember that it's 5 o'clock in the morning over in Los Angeles right now.

It would also make sense to sprinkle things out over the days instead of giving everything at once.

They are going to do a demo of the game on Thursday over here:

A major point with the show is to get the press to write about it...if they give away all the goodies now the incentive to write an article goes down drastically...it's not really news if FD themselves already told "everyone" about it. ;)

Is it just me or is the Eagle bigger than the Cobra MkIII?

It's a trick of perspective. The Cobra and Eagle are similar lengths, but the Cobra is far wider and more massive - look at the yellow circle on the floor for scale.

I think it's a perspective thing. If you look at the picture of the Eagle, it appears to sit almost entirely within the circular markings on the docking pad floor. The MkIII, however, covers a lot more of that same floorspace.

Edit:- Ninjad!

It's just you. :)

The Eagle pic has been shot from a lot closer, and at a different perspective, than the Cobra one. Check out the painted circle on the hanger floor. The Eagle's "wings" fit comfortably inside, while the Cobra simply dwarfs it.

*EDIT* Ha ha. Double ninja'd...

Has anyone worked out the specific gravity at that level of a Coriolis yet?

Yes, some estimates and approximations have been done. It's somewhat difficult without accurate dimensions from Frontier, but I believe the consensus is around 0.3 g at the periphery of the docking bay and around 1.0 g at the outer levels of the station itself.

k ... back to my cupboard under the stairs ... Mr Dursley throws left-overs through the air vent soon. I need to get the scraps before the rats do.

Thought the trailer was Bang on!

RATHER Commander!!

(an off topic request please, for a Space Station "Mayall"? I hope "Turing" is also in, as being reminded, was in the news too yesterday ...)

But yes, a Bang On trailer ... and the best of luck to FD at E3.

This is me being chuffed-er, than ever-er CMDRS, to have heard about the E: D development in time to be a proud backer-er.

Come out from under the stairs Alien .. someone needs to keep people on their toes!!

You can see the original sized image here.

The system is 17 Draconis, by the looks of it. Bloody miles away from us!

Can't quite see the name of the outpost though. Peraligo? Paralido?

Think it might be "Paradiso Outpost", then an illegible (to me) line and "Independent Jurisdiction" on the line below.

Your guess is as good as mine re the build no.

The important bit from that article:

For the next release of Elite, players will enjoys a new type of station that is significantly larger than the ones already in the game. In the words of Braben, the new stations are "more flamboyant and higher tech."

Yes, but you missed this bit:

While at one new station, which happens to be located in a new system...

:D
