About the station killing you on sight.

I wanted to give the passenger missions a go.

I pick 3 missions up to the same destination and fly off, one of them is perioners and the two others are businesswhatever.
I get half way there and one of the missions change destination... annoying.. but the two others doesnt! so whatever ill continue there drop off the first missions two before heading to the changed destination.

I get the station and i get scanned, no worries ? right? wrong pff killed... nothing I could do about it. yeah great fun. gg and all that.
that was my first and last passenger mission in this game.

Have a good weekend.

let this be a warning. dont touch thoes crappy missions till they fix them. you can fly inside of station without ducking request, you can with slaves or drugs doesnt matter! worst is a fine.
but do with passengers they dont like for whatever reason! its fu you! and your punishment is death.

Not quite true that you can't do anything, you can go into stations without being scanned. Silent running always works for me, be it in a small ship like the Cobra or in a big ship like a T9. I go silent when I drop out of supercruise and sneak in, its important to not go silent to late and also don't fly directly at the Cops they still can scan you when you get close.

Nah, it's not pointless...

Why not the station shoots you almost to bits, stops firing and lets you live sometimes, then the station voice laughs at you over the comlink.

I'd give you my opinion if I could read your post. Unfortunately white text on a beige background is not very readable so I didn't. :(

You do not have to be scanned before a hostile station will shoot you anymore.

I think you guys failed to see the point here...

Im doing a normal mission here, im not trying to smuggle anything in or something... just doing a normal mission... i shouldnt need to rely on a stealth ninja silent running to enter the station :S

about "not true you can do something blabla" mate... once you're scanned, there is no warning no leave the station or whatever! its straight to the rebuy screen.
Do you enter every station in silent running ? just because there might be a bug that kill you?

i dont quite understand what you're trying to say, but i dont even carry weapons on my transport ship, so im not firing on anything or anyone for that matter.

SR has never worked as intended in regards to NPC scans so it's a waste of time and doesn't really do anything. What's helping you avoid the scans is not flying close to the cops. Never engage SR at a station it's a death sentence, instead line up with the slot from about 6km or more away to avoid station security then boost once and dock.

I've been doing this since launch and it's never let me down from sidewinder to corvette never been scanned.

wut?

I've been running silent into stations in my Cutter for 2 months. I have *never* been scanned. Not once. But when I don't go SR? Maybe 1 in 4 stations attempt to scan me; some complete and some do not. But I *never* get scanned when I got SR and pop 2 heat sinks along the way. If you can't manage flying your ships in SR through the mail slot, I'd encourage you to practice more. You getting into a station should not look like bumper bowling.

And I've never been scanned for two whole years, somehow I don't think I'm the one that needs practice. Now hop out of you cutter that can outrun the cops (scan range is only 1.5km and line of sight) and fly something that can't then tell me it works.

Proposal:

If you have a WANTED passenger and you are scanned, dont destroy the ship!, retain the passenger in any station when you try to deliver them, you are fined, and do not receive the mission reward, easy!

CITIZEN, SUBMIT YOUR PASSENGER!

HE IS A RUNNER!, GO GET HIM!

I took a passenger mission without noticing that while the main passenger wasn't wanted, some of their entourage were. That info was contained in one of the little notes on the mission description page in a darker color I couldn't read well (my GUI is blue). I left the station in my Anaconda like normal following the speed limit. I'm scanned as I come out of the mail slot, and then I'm immediately lit up by both the station and the cops once they detected I'm carrying a wanted passenger. I managed to escape, but then had a $1,200 bounty on my head. At the time I had no idea why I was attacked.

Only when I looked again at the passenger mission boards in the next station did I realize I missed that "hey, this person isn't wanted, but someone in their party is" tidbit.

I think the current punishment for carrying a wanted passenger is a little severe. Of course, though, this is a universe where loitering is a crime punishable by death, so... it's par for the course.

I did thousands of Robigo smuggling missions and every one that Sothis/Ceos offered me. I was never scanned once entering a station, and I never used silent running. Just fly in reasonably fast and do the final few km at right angles to the front of the station. I heard the scan start a few times, but I always got in through the slot to safety before it finished.

I'm assuming you check all the details of your passenger missions to make sure that your passengers were not either high value targets or criminals. If they are criminals and you get a scan it seems that the punishment, being death, is illogically harsh when you consider that you can smuggle 100 slaves and only get a fine.

I just ran 3 separate missions in a Cobra with a view to testing this stuff out. Each was a one jump to the destination, one of those was a planetary base. 2 passengers were high value one was a criminal as well as high value. I think 2 were 'demanding'.

Upon arriving at my first station, I boosted from 7k out, dropped a heatsink at 4k out and went in.
With the 2nd station, the criminal was scan-sensitive so I again boosted at 7km, heatsinked at 4k and went in (also heat-sinking on way out of source station).
Final mission to planet base, no heatsinks used at any time, landed.

At no point were there interdictions, other demands or a single scan. Maybe I got lucky but I was pretty much looking for trouble, behaving as I would if I was smuggling slavese and I was ok.

My only issue was not being able to finish one of the missions because they wanted to pay me also with 4 commodities and I had no cargo hold (so it let me accept the mission instead of being 'requirements not met', but wouldn't let me complete). I swapped out my extra fuel tank for a 4t cargo hold, completed the mission, sold the commodities, put the fuel tank back on and reported it as a bug.

Make sure you properly read the mission briefings and know what you are taking. But I agree, ship destruction is nuts.

You are flying a wanted passanger, it isn't a normal missions. Its the illegal mission type of the passanger transport. And yes, once your scanned its too late but that doesn't mean you can't do anything, you are just trying to do something too late.

And SR is working, not sure why so many always claim it doesn't. It just needs to be used properly.

Cant read op as white on white on my ipad but assume its about the wanted passenger thingy. Fortunately i had read the threads because i nearly did this myself. Would be nice if the text for the wanted bit was in red instead of blue would it not?

What's with that white text on white background anyway? I've seen that more often in the forums.

Apparently some people want have delusions of grandeur, and feel the need to alter their text color, in order to stand out from the common crowd. They don't seem to realize that there's multiple looks for this forum, and their fancy white text vanishes on white backgrounds.

I, on the other hand, am under no such delusions, and thus have the fancy signature below. ;)
