So, do other people have nights like this?

6pm in NZ
*walks in to pub*
"Hey Dave. Speights?"
"Hey {xxx}.Please, I need it."
*Beer pouring*
"Long day?"
"Yeah, full of triangles"
"Triangles?"
"Yeah, on the sides of obelisks. Don't ask."
"Obelisks?"
*Beer arrives*
"Glowing ones on a moon. I told you not to ask."
*Staring*
"Wait, what?"
"Don't blame me, Death found them"
**Staring intensifies**
"How many have you had?"
"not enough"
"err..."
"Yeah, about 350 light years in this direction." [waves arm in general direction] "Been there all day."
[awkward pause]
**Fight over beer ensues**

Yes I certainly have, both down the pub and at work. I've learnt not to discuss computer gaming with non gamers as they usually don't get what you are on about, or understand why you like doing it.

Mind you, it works both ways when someone says some celeb dumped a famous footballer to go out with a different famous footballer, I can't fathom why anyone gives a s... :)

Yeah, I get that.
"God, have seen what Khloe Kardashian has done?"
"Is she the engineer in Alioth?"

And then you wake up the next morning with a hangover in a akward situation wondering what the hell you did last night :D

Generally I feel the same, but I've had a fairly recent exception.

My lodger is friends with an artist who - in younger days - joined the army on the basis of 'Starship Troopers' being a good book, is an enormous conspiracy nut, solipsistic, and who smokes quite a lot of shrubbery. He pops over about once a month for tea and cake. He noticed me playing one day and asked about it, then was a bit shocked when I answered to the affirmative when questioned about 'are there any strange UFOs and things?'

Now when he comes over, instead of spending most of the time chatting to the lodger about art and drinking tea, he grills me about what the latest discoveries are, wants to see screenshots of weird stuff and and the puzzles we face, and loves sitting over my shoulder as I drive around unusual sites.

I should probably ask him over Sunday. He'll love this more recent stuff.

I need more friends like that. :(

My lodger kills N.P.C s when told to. However he is very greedy and wants 12% of everything i make even when he is lounging around and doing nothing.
