Does Anyone Else Find The SRV Wave Scanner Much More Inaccurate Now?

Is it just me, or does the Wave Scanner lose its target and give false returns now?

I've done my fair share of trundling about in the little fellow, to the point I can read the distance and signal type as second nature now... however I'm finding post patch that it seems to be actually losing the signal as you get closer to the rarer formations, the signal gets weaker and narrower (moving back towards the single line from maximum distance away) and then when you get within visual range of the target, it loses it entirely.

Sometimes moving back out of range picks it up again, but sometimes too I can do doughnuts around the rough area, hammering away on the Select Target button to try and pin it manually... and it seems that there actually isn't anything there! Am I going mad from Homeopathic Arsenic Poisoning (The less arsenic I can find, the worse it effects me!)? Or is the wave scanner seriously buggy now?

Many people I game with have reported very similar issues. That would suggest to me that they have probably broken it when they tried to improve it (as it was meant to be improved in 2.2.).

Yeah its way worse now. I was hunting for some Zirconium and finding outcrops was far harder than it should be. I'd get a solid reading then the closer I got it would just break up.

...as well as completely disappear from the screen (though the sound is still there). Something got broke. I believe they're aware of these bugs with it already, though.
