"Wibbly Wobbly" Stars and where FD can shove 'em.

So,

Trying to drop into one of the Asteroid fields around the star at GD219, I get sucked into one of these new star formations. Next thing I know I'm wobbling around like drunk Ape celebrating the Day of the Simian uprising, while my cockpit alrms are going off like I just P'd in the Emperors' cornflakes.

The retched thing doesn't even have the decency to just kill me outright. I'm still wobbling around (after a good 5 mins) like a flaming loon, with no power, no thrusters, no way to escape and still have 20 mins of O2 and 50% hull.

Anyone else had the misfortune of getting sucked into one these things?

Is it possible to escape or am I destined to live out the next 5-10 mins until my hull finally gives out, like I'm riding some strange blue/white roller-coaster of death?

Anyhow, watch yourself out there CMDRs.

Toffa, have you tried the "Repair / Reboot" option?

Gave me some mad giggling with this. Have a +rep :D

Hmm, I just got sucked into one about 30 minutes ago. Not much you can do it seems. Just lost 3 months of scan data, or roughly 200 hours of scan data.

So yeah, FD can shove this new game mechanic up their dark side.

On the plus side, I wiped my save and I'll find something better to do with my time.

Someone's going to have to fill me in, I'm not familiar with the technical astrophysical term "wibbly wobbly"
Has it got anything to do with "timey wimey?"

OP mentioned a star formation, too....

Confused...

If you should fall into the gravitational well of a wibbly wobbly star such as I have, fear not just follow these helpful instructions.

People want challenge to spice up exploration, they get challenge, then other people complain :|

Those stars ejecta give a 300% additional jump range. It is only fair that this isn't given for free.

Can't please everyone.

I think he is referring ti Derptron Stars and White Derp stars. Had a good ol griefing fleet out and about looking to nom. We jumped and got sucked into one. Only two of us escaped badly damaged.

If you are referring to my OP, may I suggest re-reading it and finding the humor and the true intent behind the post. If you're still having trouble finding it, may I suggest a quick call to 1300655506.

If you're not referring to my OP. Please do not turn what's supposed to be a humorous thread into a "complain about the complainers, complaining because the other thing they didn't want anyway, that doesn't really affect them, is causing people to complain" thread.

Cool?

Ah! If only I had this before I fell into the heart of the wobbliest wibbly that ever wibbled a wobbly!

I think they are called wibbly wobbly stars because thats what they make your butt do....

Bill

"Quick, raise the alert status to 'Brown alert' "
"Sir, theres no such status"
"There will be in a minute..."

Yep. All my modules are at 0%. R&R unable to process....

This may be my last post. It's getting cold..... So cold......

Before you went on your trip I wonder if you said out loud, to no one in particular, 'I'm going out, I maybe sometime' :)

I think the term has a high probability of catching on. Henceforth, all neutrons and white dwarfs shall be known as 'Wibbly Wobbly' :D

+1 rep for funny post.
This is the way to post if you want to rant a bit [up]

I'm gonna do some training in a sidey before risking anything.

If the jump boost was +900% then it would be worth the risk. But for a 300% boost when I could make 4 regular jumps in the time it takes me to supercharge and re-re-replot?

No thanks. I'll stick to normal jumps.

Got caught in one of these in beta with my vette. After a fight I managed to H-wake out and not a single module was above 80% integrity. Since then I've learned to give them a very healthy respect.

Yeah its not a huge boost particuarly since if you do happen to come a cropper and get knocked out of SC into the jets its most likely a death sentence. Can even happen if you get an un-timely dc next to one.. They sure do look amazing though.

So times of farming the neutron fields are over? Theres the slight chance to end up in a cone upon arrival (even if the patchnotes tell otherwise)

Yes, you currently can drop directly into a jet (and on occasion immediately pulled out of SC). The saftey feature currently doesn't work, which I'm not surprised because they never tested said feature during the beta.
