I had to share this as I find it HIGHLY amusing and ironic. I joined this facebook page to have a look-see and chat about ED without moderation and lo and behold most, not all were a bunch of uneducated, infantile idiots... One even started pming my wife, complaining that I had insulted him when I verbally handed him his own backside when we bumped heads regarding the potty humor and cursing. The irony is not lost on me and I really DO apologize to ANYONE who I have commented on regarding the "griefers" and m,y incorrect statement that they dont exist, they DO exist, but it seems they get a bit upset when you out-talk them. The irony is not lost on me, a hardcore PvPer who runs and tells my wife I have been nasty to him??? Go figure.

You're surprised? Bullys don't like people showing them up, and they'll usually whine and cry or attack you from behind when you do.
I'm sure he would have run to tell his mum but she was busy...
Unfortunately this is the truth of the situation outside of heavily moderated forums etc. I had to give up streaming ED at prime times (after a whole year of putting up with it) due to the avalanche of toxic elements that would do anything in their power to disrupt or destroy the stream. Stream sniped repetitively, privately threatened on facebook/other social media, doxxing and eventually getting direct death threats!
The sad truth is that by the end of that era i ended up contacting the community managers of FD and they advised me to contact the police regarding the issue as it got that nasty & intense
I still consider these toxic people to be a 5-10% minority of the player base but they certainly can cause a lot of trouble.

Unfortunetly , its the nature of the internet, because its anonymous , it draws out the worst in some people's behaviour.
90% of us want to have fun playing ED (and indeed, every online game from candy crush to UT4) while a few and its always a few want to disrupt and destroy other peoples fun in the name of 'lolz', hint: its about as fun for the rest of us as someone walking out onto the pitch at old trafford at 1/2 time and digging up the grass.
ED is more vunerable to this sort of behaviour because of its P2P nature, with a central modderated server, the guys causing mayhem would swiftly be kicked and banned, but ED, all we can do is report them and hope.
Having said that, I dont mind the "we're going to shoot down everyone at the alien ship" groups.... if only they'd give an in-game reason (hint .. you listening SDC... ) because to me, having a bunch of mindless killers out there adds to the flavour of the galaxy.

Dont get me wrong I LOVE PvP, I'm old school but these new crowd are in a class of their own. I WOULD call em kids but most are grown men.
