Horizons Ocellus station = Bernal type in log?

Since F D decided to call the Ocellus stations "Ocellus", why does the log list them as "Bernal type"? (I presume that is what they were called in early development.)

Are we liable to see the commander's log data changed in future? I'm sure they won't change the actual in-game description (or would they).

Aren't Ocellus and Orbis both "Bernal type"? Simply meaning "Round docking thingy with attachable tail and rings"?
As opposed to Coriolis type, which is the only one of its type so it can be called Coriolis directly.

Kind of like USS Nimitz herself and Nimitz class carriers

No a Bernal Sphere is a proposed space habitat utilizing a sphere as the most efficient space to contain an atmosphere and also it gives some sort of protection from cosmic radiation.

The Orbis Station is of a basically cylindrical main body (well, hub since the Stanford Torus is the habitat) instead of a spherical one.

P. S. An ocellus is a basic eye in case anyone was wondering.

P.P.S - I just had a twang from my distant memory and having eventually found my old school latin dictionary I see that orbis is actually circle - so smack on the wrist for me and at least I won't mind seeing "Orbis Station" any more.

You know it seems like an age since I was at one of those Coriolis with the long arms either side.

I only know of three in the whole bubble. They're really rare

Yes, David mentioned many years ago, that because it's spherical, it was initially called Oculus, but for some reason they decided against it at some point. :D

And you're probably right, I just always considered the two "O" station types kind of siblings in construction.
