Is this still the case after jumping to a new system, or docking at a new station? EDDI doesn't have information on the current system when it starts, you need to move for it to pick up the changed information.

Yes is still the case for me, for exempe i do some runs between TUN and ALRAI, in ALRAI I got all the information ( population, possition on dock pad ...) but for TUN it's tell me the system is unoccupied

If you are seeing it for some systems but not others it suggests that the local cache is holding on to the data. It should sort itself out in the next 12 hours.

Thank you. Found it! However it still did not work. I had to provide my commander information for the EDDI Companion App again. I closed that after it was set up and opened up VA and imported the .vap but it still only shows plugin Support enabled and still does not respond to "System Status" or "Star System Report" ... still says "Unrecognized"

Those commands aren't in the default VAP any more because they're triggered by events. If you want to add them back in to your own profile, for example if you want to repeat the information, it would be easy enough to add them. For example, if you wanted a star system report then you would:

  • Create a command in VoiceAttack triggered by you saying "Star system report"
  • For the first action set a text value "Script" to be "System report"
  • For the second action call the EDDI plugin with the context "speech"

This will trigger the "System report" speech. You can find a full list of the scripts, and indeed create your own, from the 'Speech responder' tab in the EDDI UI.

I've got a bug that I've been unable to shake. Basically, EDDI's speech responder seems to be reacting twice to each event (two system summaries on jump, two reactions to docking, etc.). The 1st reaction has variables correctly set, the second seems to revert to default / null variables. What could be the source for this issue?

I've tried deleting and reinstalling EDDI (both the VoiceAttack plugin and %APPDATA), but the issue persists.
The only thing that I preserved in the reinstall is the .json file with my custom tweaks to EDDI... I've put a fair amount of work into it already and I'd rather not lose that!

VA version 1.5.12.27
EDDI version 2.0.6

Thanks!

I'm glad to hear about the server code update (I've also been told by EDDI that the system is unoccupied when it clearly is occupied).
Is anyone else getting two events / reactions from each action in E.D.?

Possible feature enhancement:
Would it be possible to detect the currently selected fire group from the player journal? I'd like to set up some automatic switching profiles. :p

I'm afraid that information isn't available in the journal.

I'm having troubles with the ((EDDI controlling fighter)) and ((EDDI controlling ship)) commands in VA.
The image above shows an example of an EDDI VA command that works ((EDDI undocked)), and an EDDI VA command that won't work ((EDDI controlling fighter)).
I can't see what I have done differently between the two commands that might cause a failure.
Please someone else take a look and see if you notice something.

Oops, maybe I just figured it out. I was trying to use ((EDDI controlling fighter)) as ((EDDI fighter launched)). Ugh! So many pages of commands and variables! But it's AWESOME!

The EDDI API server was misbehaving, I've kicked it so it should be working now. Please let me know if you continue to not hear system information (allegiance, population etc).

kicking it worked for me. All information playing correctly again.

How often does the "damage report" check the ship?

Got into abit of a scrap and had lots of damage (Hull, modules, etc). Damage report it said everything was 100%. Seemed only after I went and docked and asked for a report it reported the damage to the ship.

JMG. Is there a listing of what we should or shouldn't be hearing and / or events that should be occurring if everything is working properly? I have been a user since the first version and I have no idea what is he is not supposed to happen anymore. Lol.

Because the companion API isn't real-time the damage report isn't very useful when travelling. The best bet is to use it after docking, as that generally triggers an update on Frontier's servers and hence allows EDDI to provide relevant information.

If you open up the EDDI.exe program and select the 'Speech responder' tab there is a list of events that can trigger scripts and a description of when they happen. IF EDDI is set up to respond to a particular event with a speech then you can press the 'Test' button next to it to hear a sample.

Thank you very much, so the problem was operator error... Sorry. I will try to do that. I did not realize EDDI actually worked without VA until I accidentaly left EDDI open while going back to my home system. So just another dumb noob question... Does the EDDI Companion respond to voice commands? or does that require VA?

Apologies if this has been asked before...

After deleting all previous EDDI commands per the Troubleshooter and reimporting the latest 2.0.6 .vap I'm no longer getting error messages with the sole exception of "EDDI not set." I'm not sure what else to set, since I have configured all options in EDDI.exe. I'm running the latest Beta of VA. VA gave me a warning about keyboard shortcuts and Admin privileges but fixing that made no difference.

No net log entries at all getting read to me like it did when I jump to SC at all, despite all plugins being enabled, etc.

The only one time it had 'started speaking' was when I had accidentally left EDDI.exe running--I understand it's supposed to be off when VA is enabled. I'm using the Rift, so VA is kind of a must-have for me.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

Do you see the 'EDDI 2.0.6 plugin enabled' message when you start VoiceAttack?

If so, can you confirm that your 'Netlog monitor' tab in the EDDI UI is configured correctly?

If both of these are true, and you don't receive any messages when docking, then please could you send me your %APPDATA%\EDDI\eddi.log for me to take a look at? Thanks.

Hi, First COOL APP LOVE IT !!!!
--
1, Sometimes when opening the app the voice is badly distorted have to close and reopen app
2, I don't use voice attack, is there anyway i can get more voices ? or is voice attack the only way ?
3, i cannot 'Un-Check' some boxes in the voice responses, 10 minutes of the AI telling me i can swap out all of the module on my Conda at Jamerson
actually made me turn it off ! :)
