Hardware & Technical Okay, but how well does it fly with an XBox type joypad?

xbox ps3 type controller high sensitivity

When I first tried flying with my ps3 controller emulated to be an xbox controller I was horrified by how sensitive the flight/thumb stick was. You only need move it about 1/8" in any direction to get maximum response. I said there is no way this is going to work. I set the deadbands to 50% in all the flight commands. Then I played in combat mission 2 and just tailed the fluke for 60 minutes. To my amazement the ship started to respond wonderfully just by very small movements of my thumb. Now I just love it I can dogfight with almost no physical effort, Next thing I did was assign all the controller buttons to the critical commands required for combat. I can now lay back on my bed and play on the giant flatscreen pulled right up to the foot of the bed. Its so comfortable and light after getting use to a gamepad controller its the only way to relax and play this game from your bed or easy chair. So don't give up. I challenge anybody to just follow the fluke ship for 60 minutes then say the gamepad is no good. It realy rocks as soon as you learn not to panic and get used to the micro movements required to master the stick.;)
