VIDEO: Imperial Fighter, F 63 Condor, or Taipan?

Hi everyone,

This is a new entry to my channel, that will from now on be located on the new playlist - Elite Dangerous Ship Reviews.

In this video we explore usefulness off Ship Launched Fighters after few weeks of playing about with them, and talk about why some variants perform way better than others.

P.S.

If you like my videos, and can be bothered, please upvote them on Reddit :

I have a bit of troll problem there, they seem to downvote my videos the second I put them up there :D

Even though the videos themselves do good on YouTube.

Thank you!

I was wondering about this myself actually, very interesting video!

I personally use the 'Aegis F' (Plasma) F63 firstly because the F63 seems to be the most readily available of the fighters. And because as you said, the plasma looks cool and helps me distinguish which shots are coming from my fighter.

But it's hard to ignore the massive DPS increase from the Imperial Fighter though so I'll be swapping to those as soon as I can find some. As much as it will annoy me having Imperial Fighters in a Federal Corvette...[arrrr]

I have this exact same, infuriating problem :D

But raw performance diferences simply cannot be ignored.

I do carry both Imperial Fighter with fixed beams, and F63 condor with multicanons on my Corvette, and I think that when multi-crew comes out and if SLFS dont change, these 2 variants will be quite insane in PVP.

Currently, tho, with Dangerous NPC+ F63 condor with multicanons seems to have the highest impact on PVP.

And for PVE, all of them are the same really, since they get ignored by NPCs who focus you down instead, so manuverability is not a problem, even for the Taipan

I wish to continue my ship review series, and was just wondering, which ship would you guys like to get reviewed next?

Great video!

Either review your PvP monster Corvette, or do a small ship DBS? Or maybe Vulture, or something really silly like a hauler?

:D that's a lot of "ors", hmm maybe I should just review all of them 1 by 1

Interesting video, MassiveD. I've yet to sample that aspect of 2.2, so this guide will be very handy when I finally get around to it.

Thank's Jason, it's not really a guide, more like a review / opinion, but glad you liked it ^.^ did you have your battle yet?

No, not yet. Last night after I was finished with all the upgrades we discussed to my loadout I had to call it quits and I haven't been back in yet. When I do log in it'll be to spend the afternoon practicing some new maneuvers.

I've actually started racking up a pretty lengthy list of CMDR's who want to duel, most friendly, some not so friendly:)

As my kids are fond of saying to me: it's just the way my magic works!

In all seriousness, the community interaction is what keeps this game burning strong for me; winging up with my friends and practicing, CG's where the "bad guys" like to gather for turkey shoots...this latter is my new secret passion. After the action at Walter Dock a few weeks ago I made the firm decision I was no longer going to bring a knife to a gunfight when it comes to putting down the *ahem* rabid dogs that tend to gather in those areas, if you know what I mean. From that day on my entire gameplay time has been spent learning new skills and acquiring new tools to combat PvP villainy. This IMO is really what elevates this game to such a lofty status in my game library, the desire to constantly improve, and the forces of good and evil present within the galaxy.

I'm sorry but the taipan is better than the Condor... condor have the worst     tiest lateral thruster in game :D

Technicly both of them are terrible :D the one redeeming thing about Condor is access to the MC loadout

Condors should have a message on the side of the panel (don't fly above 0.1 G)

(and i didnt know why we could see so much condors crashed on 2.1 ....)

As for using Imperial fighters, well, since I fly a engineered combat Cutter, I think they will look just fine! ;)

Thanks again.

Sorry but condor is broken. From Beta 1 to Beta 7 to release 2.2.

Condor was broken. It is broken. And sound like it will be broken.

Idk why FD did not fix it after SO MUCH bug reports. But nowdays Condor is a worst not only fighter but a ship in game itself.

CONDOR DON'T HAVE REAR THRUST ABILITY IN SPACE GAME.

He can't even evade Corvette mothership while flying toward him from 2km. NPC can't use this ship well, nor player. While you fly on Condor you can think that you play No Man Sky. Same fly model...

And docking.. oh god. It is too damn painfull on such ship.

I have to agree, Condor feels much slower than what the stats on paper would have you think ^^

Grrrr, Imperials :D

I'm joking, I have a Cutter myself, don't like it tho.

You don't need to tell me how good it is, I have an A-rated one and used it extensively in combat, I know how potent it is in the right hands, not my cup of tea tho ^^

Glad you enjoyed my video! I'll keep them comming

Great vid. I'd add there is one more place where SLFs are useful and that's planetary assaults. In those, I've found the Condor with plasma and point defence to be best. The highest shield rating makes it so it can take a missile or two to the face without damage. The point defence makes it so it won't nessessarily have to and the repeaters are the most effective SLF weapons I've found against ground defences. Cheers.
