I see each other is important. I say it again. It is clearly seen that - the first large structures were built. The second smaller structures were built. Third were built artifacts. Then structures were damaged.
The ground of a ruined wall lies on top of the ruins. Soil erosion. Landslide.
I hope this is not just a design. I noted with a question mark on a place that looks like erosion. But there are ruins from above. This is different from other places with erosion.

It does look like the remains of the outcrops etc after they've given up their materials.

Might be a false alarm. I found an outcrop at exactly the indicated location. The blasted outcrop looked like the growth in the reddit video. Upon relogging, the area looked clean and then, the same growth animation happened.
Hence, I conclude, that it is just an outcrop residue.

Damn, fellow tinfoil friends you are fast! I just came to post the video but I can see you're all over it. Sadly I'm away on a ship for work for 2 weeks... this forum is the best when one can't actually fly! Keep at it CMDRS.

So in the video it actually grew in front of the SRV! Has anyone seen the same thing? Is it persistent?

It is an outcrop. That's for sure. I harvested it!
The 3 spikes are the remains.
I'm in Mobius right there if someone needs a guide and wants to check.

There is a weird persistence bug with the Outcrop. Nothing is coming out of the crust.
The outcrop did the same thing to me as to him when I relogged.

It's not fake - I wish people would stop saying that, it is basically accusing the cmdr of lying.

But: I'm at those coords now, and there's a normal outcrop right on the spot. Nothing else. So I think it's probably a bug in the procedural outcrop generation. My guess is it spawns the outcrop, then realises the cmdr has destroyed it an de-spawns it in favour of outcrop remains.

Could be wrong of course. Going to cycle modes now.

We are here. 3 ppl who "just" see an outcrop. 2 possibilities:

1. Fake. Video was cut before the outcrop spawned in and continued after the material has fallen on the planets surface.
2. Bug

Who knows.

Edit: When you shoot it the 3 spikes remain, like it is in the video.
