Elite / Frontier Frontier: Elite II Special Edition

In February 2011 I released Frontier: Elite II Special Edition (via The English Amiga Board)

DOWNLOAD ADF

View the readme on the disk for the features...

Which include:-
Removal of copy-protection check (not cracked)
Addition of the Navigation Computer (also seen in FFE)
Extra structures and buildings
Various bug fixes

A New City Scape

This is a port of the Amiga CD32 version of Frontier: Elite II, it fits on a single disk (ADF) and contains the original pre-set save games (found on disk 2). You will need a blank disk (ADF) for your own save games as the disk is full.

You can still find them about, along with parts, amibay is a good place to look. I among a few others on here still have Amigas running today :D

This is great! I tried getting back into the Amiga version recently but the random manual checks were annoying (I've got the physical manual and a pdf, but it's still a nuisance, just as it was back in the day).

Any recommendations for WinUAE settings to get it particularly nice?

Try a different ADF you should find one without the manual checks.

As for setting the standard A1200/4000 should run the game fine.

the adf available via the link in the original post does not have a manual check (commercially removed - not cracked)

settings for a smooth emulated experience are:-

CPU and FPU
68040

CPU Emulation Speed
Fast possible

The rest should be standard settings, AGA is not important as FE2 was designed for OCS/ECS anyway

Memory does not need to be more than 2mb

If using a "virtual" hard drive, the "disc" can be drag an dropped in any drawer

Also on the disc is the original set saves from the 2nd floppy disc

more info at the link regarding bug fixes and extras
