VIDEO: Imperial Fighter, F 63 Condor, or Taipan?

Hi everyone,

This is a new entry to my channel, that will from now on be located on the new playlist - Elite Dangerous Ship Reviews.

In this video we explore usefulness off Ship Launched Fighters after few weeks of playing about with them, and talk about why some variants perform way better than others.

P.S.

If you like my videos, and can be bothered, please upvote them on Reddit :

I have a bit of troll problem there, they seem to downvote my videos the second I put them up there :D

Even though the videos themselves do good on YouTube.

Thank you!

Great video, thank you.

One question. You say that you’re not willing to sacrifice half of the damage output to go from fixed to gimballed beam lasers. Has this changed? I thought it was a 20% buff when using fixed?

I think the best fun I've had is scouting about ahead of my Anaconda on planets.

I got a couple of tip-offs, decided to go and look - being in the fighter really helped narrow down the search coordinates and find the wrecks.

I thought visibility would be better in the Taipan, but the high sides on the cockpit reduce visibility, bah! SO F63 it is for me, until I land in an Imperial station and pick up the Imperial fighter.

Altho im a feddy.. its a pretty bad ship on a planet. Muchmore prefer the imp one.

While admittedly it's not the best mover over surfaces, the shields are second to none and it's the only ship that has a plasma repeaters and point defence. Once accustomed to it, it can disable a heavily armed station with ease.

I like your videos MassiveD, but this one is not so good.

You should practice more with small ships or get some experience in CQC before critiquing the ship's handling ability. All of those SLFs are capable of sniffing the tailpipe of any anaconda (including some of the heavy fighters) indefinitely but watching you try is like watching a baby horse come out of a horse butt and try to walk.

One thing the Taipan takes big advantage of is the ability to survive a missile and railgun shot. The other ships do not and this gives the taipan a big advantage, especially in PvE because it has a much higher chance to continue fighting after taking some hits. It also has the ability to use more vertical thrust allowing it to continue placing hits while riding the belly.

I have killed approximately 1200 ships in combat zones since the update using my gunship. My NPC has reached Dangerous already and so far I have found the Taipan with plasma and condor with fixed multis to be the best for combat zone farming. These ships have exceptional damage to hull compared to the other loadouts and are very useful for finishing bogeys at distance that are caught without shields. In order to get the most mileage from them, they do best with chaff and point defense. In PvP, they need chaff.

Love your video, keep up the good work.

Can we test the ships on hull damage ignoring shields.

I fly a Cutter in a wing consisting of a Corvette and an Anaconda. Even though everything dies super fast I liek to min max,..

With efficient beam lasers can't say my opponents or NPC have shield for very long, when their shield are down though I would like to max my dsp. vs hull damage, as I find this most useful. Multi-Cannons do run out of ammo, and the longer I can stay out the more money I can make per hour.

I think this test might prove useful as beams might be great vs shield but does this switch during hull damage phase of a fight? Will it save me ammo so I can stay out longer?

Cheers :D

Massive, Please can you give us a Video on the best shields to have in 2.3.

I hear it is all change with the shields and Shield Boosters, and it's ok for the number crunchers to work out the best way to protect a combat Vette or conda, but for us foot soldiers we need your advice ;)

Thanks

No changes for shields in 2.3. FDev decided to not implement the beta changes into the next live version.

OP, now I am missing audio so I get the feeling I am missing something you point out in the vid, but I notice a distinct lack of Taipain in that comparison including the taipan?

Sorry but condor is broken. From Beta 1 to Beta 7 to release 2.2.

Condor was broken. It is broken. And sound like it will be broken.

Idk why FD did not fix it after SO MUCH bug reports. But nowdays Condor is a worst not only fighter but a ship in game itself.

CONDOR DON'T HAVE REAR THRUST ABILITY IN SPACE GAME.

He can't even evade Corvette mothership while flying toward him from 2km. NPC can't use this ship well, nor player. While you fly on Condor you can think that you play No Man Sky. Same fly model...

And docking.. oh god. It is too damn painfull on such ship.

That's fine, buff its agility.

But seeing as you also get the MCs, the Imp fighter wants to have its higher speed back ;)

REALLY?, oh bloody great news. So no nerfs on the Shield Boosters and they can still stack like they do now in 2.2.03?

WAHOOOOOoooo
