The Test flight which didnt end

Looks like the DBx has quite a cult following. I've never flown it but it does look much nicer compared to the ASP.. then so does every other ship, as mentioned earlier. I'm personally not fussed though. How often do you spend looking at your ship? But then I do understand people like to take a lot of selfies and I'm guessing that's where the aesthetics come in.

i'm a sucker for an underdog,

time spent looking at ship... you do know this thing has a 4A fuel scoop right :)

its possibly the same reason i don't drive a fiat multipla, amazing view, practical, dashboard looks nice...

Today i must cancel my expedition and limp home....

i charged up at another Neutron (they were a nice break up to getting somewhere using them as stepping stones) and after i had hit that wonderful 200ly range figure i shot off into deep space in the same system.

i was perusing the Galaxy map looking for two things, my next neutron and also a destination 200ly away for approx 5 minutes when the connection dropped.

meh no big deal i made a tea and came back to log on and this is what i was greeted with upon leaving the loading screen

now i did survive - as you can see from the video in a midst of panic with a decent amount of hull left

but...

Thrusters 22%
FSD 15%
Cargo hatch 19%
Fuel scoop 23%
Life support 51%
Power dist 9%
Cockpit canopy 18%
DSS 100% - odd eh?
Power plant 44%
ADS 81%

now i have a sketchy ship which likes to drop power to thrusters / pp / FSD every 5 minutes causing even more damage :(

so yes... [Warning explorers] there is an issue here currently, wish i had known about this prior to dabbling.

hopefully i can make it home.. if not i'm going to raid the gin supply and watch the timer count down

After the brush with neutron stars... i didn't learn and went back for more

a few more disconnects but thankfully no drops into the cones

my canopy thanked me when i landed and repaired it, it was on 5% by time i had got home after all the FSD malfunctions dropping me back to normal space emergency drop style!

Claimed 17m in exploration credits :) - bought a keelback, played with a fighter for all of 10 seconds, sold it, sacked the crew, got back in my DBx

in hindsight i should have pursued my support ticket further as others were just simply repaired with the same issue, but meh, it was a challenge to get back i suppose and using more neutrons on the way back with a broken FSD was like poking a tiger with a stick... but i now know how to escape successfully should the need arise again in a legitimate scenario.

oh yeah and i found this among other things on the way home, so not all bad..

Some lovely screen shots :) shame about the hi-tech bulldog in most of the shots though ;)

Can't argue with that :D

Think I've gone mad, I'm 2kly beyond the edge, polonium running low so I'm searching for more on a 1% planet but I'm 2kly beyond the edge it's madness
