Why do I have music playing on this planet even though it's muted? #strange

Can there be more clues in the ruins as to the exact planet and location we are looking for?

Same question I've got.

Sol always stuck out to me because, to me, these ruins don't seem alien, not really anyway.

I go along with this thinking - the ruins don't match any of the alien ships, or barnacles in that they do not have that "bioengineered" feeling. I think we're dealing with two different... races? Beings?

Mengy that's awesome work and I have sent you some rep, but here's a virtual biscuit to go with it 😀. I have a stack of mining missions to finish up so it will be a day or two before I can join the hunt. I believe as well that this site is a combination data archive and star map, it just seems the most probable explanation to me given that it will have been a star faring civilisation that built it. Even if this interpretation of the site doesn't pan out, I think you are working along the right lines.

So I imagine we need to start using this thread to coordinate some searches and share some data on these systems?

By the way a week or two back there was another system folks were looking at based on the Elite Meet video. Whatever happened to that search and can we see where that system fits on Mengy 's star map?

awesome work mr mengy...
now that I have dropped these bugged passenger missions...one with no visitor beacon at second location and the other completed but not on menu to cash in!!!! and lost all my local rep...I am free mr peacock to join in the search (xbox)

Mengy's Alien Ruins Stellar Map Theory

Okay, so I’ve either figured out what the ruins are, or I’ve discovered a number of truly amazing and improbable coincidences of design. But, from what I have here in front of me, I do strongly believe that the alien ruins are a stellar map giving us directions for where to follow and investigate whoever made them, or possibly something else of importance.

The summary is this: I believe the large pad represents the ruin system SYNUEFE XR-H D11-102, the peak of the north pyramid above the large pad represents SOL, the small pad represents the system COL 132 SECTOR CN-Z B30-10, and the peak of the pyramid internal to the ruins likely represents system IC 2602 SECTOR PS-J B9-10.
...

Uh ... this is brillant, nice !

On my way to "IC 2602 SECTOR PS-J B9-10", is there already someone in this sector ?
Don't hesitate to ping me IG if you see me.

Has anyone figured out the symbols at the bottom of the relic towers that I posted yet? I have tried to make sense of it but I cant find anything that makes sense.

On a sadder note I have officially played patch 2.2 more offline on sites built in the 1990s with decryption algorithms than in the game so far.

They need to add these tools into the game scanners, decoders, cipher tools, chemical/biological analyzers, Email, Notes, and actual game object manipulation.

The puzzles also need to be more interactive. Right now its all or nothing. You either have the answer or you dont. There isnt anything in the game itself to manipulate or study to determine if you are on the right path. There is no testing for your hypothesis in the game. You have to test outside the game and hope your hypothesis works.

All of the answers to these puzzles have been humongous leaps of faith by one person or another. I mean how was it guessed or that we would be decoding a nonogram. Dont get me wrong it was genius, but how did this come to be? Was it stumbled upon due to trial and error? If not then how?

I by no means want instant gratification. I do however want to remain immersed in the game environment.

Think we should create a Canonn post on what scientific tools we need in game and how we think they might work using the current game model? For example non of the tools up until this point can have anything to do with getting out of your ship. Its not implemented yet.

Yes! This is so needed! I personally dont have a degree in cryptography, pattern analysis, symbology and greek mythology, therefore i am next to useless when it comes to figuring these mysteries out. My biggest issue is that something that started off as an easter egg and something very secret (therefore catered to a small niche of players) became the FDev's main vessel for pushing the storyline. Im not the type that will datamine an ancient game rom to find out that some tech left his initials in some random memory cluster. All these mysteries are for people like that. I may be dumber than most people on this thread but i still paid for my game and i believe i also deserve to be part of the game and its story. If this is how they will keep doing it, i cant contribute or be of any meaningful assistance. If i cant solve a puzzle by using only in-game mechanics and tools, its not efficient way to present story and background events to your userbase, majority of which is like me - clueless. Honestly if not for this thread, i would have given up on the game almost a year ago. Its the only thing that ties any kind of story to this universe, because there sure as hell is no story in-game. And no, random galnet posts doesnt cut it.

Sol always stuck out to me because, to me, these ruins don't seem alien, not really anyway. It's my hunch that they were made by The Missing, humans who left Sol long ago, and maybe found something interesting, advanced, dangerous, something big enough for them to justify leaving ruins behind as a message to us as we follow in their footsteps.

Just a hunch I have, especially seeing how the map lines up with SOL as the pyramid point so precisely.

Could all be an outlandish coincidence too, I admit...

Very good work, will go and have a look if we can prove your theory somehow. Or disprove but thats science.

The analogy that came to mind are the great pyramids and how with the Nile it maps out Orion. But we don't t come from Orion. That is my problem with the site.

So Im in IC 2602 SECTOR Ps-J B9-10 on the third planet driving around in my srv when i come accross a landed System Security Force
Viper MkIV, this far outisde the bubble??

Well anyways, I'm off to bed now!
Going to look around again tomorrow and see if I can find anything!

Also found a group of occupied escape pods about 150 m from the Viper

Not sure if these mean anything or not.

Anyway, ACTUALLY off to bed now! Happy Hunting CMDRS

You mean like a trello board that's been cataloging & trying to organize current canonn research & data?

Yea, we got that. Still VERY much a work in progress, but we have some tools over on the main Research board.

Feel free to bother myself or any of the other trello board mods; anyone can comment if you feel something is missing!
