How about an Engineer that lets you modifty your ADS to allow you to see the surface of planets without needing the DSS?

That way you aren't forced to use a feature you don't like (Let me tell you, a minority of people deciding your game for you sucks) and everyone else who wanted to see the surface of planets by using the ADS can get what they want.

You get your black spheres that allows you to satisfy your curiosity or whatever by examining every ice ball while everyone else gets a massive time saver and easy way to find tons of places to race/explore/fight whatever they want as long as they work towards it with the engineer in question.

Rather then one side walking away with everything they wanted while everyone else has to deal with, it everyone ends up happy this way. (not EVERYONE but you get the point)

Only if we also get a mod to allow the DSS to perform a limited ADS-style honk that only reveals the dark spheres. ;)
 
It's been suggested before, but I'd like to see the detailed surface scanner as an addon to the discovery scanner, pretty much like the hanger/SRV module work. That would save a slot and allow more flexibility. Also, we wouldn't have to chose. Sometimes that's good :p
 
I want a zoom function on the HUD :) Would be cool to zoom in details on a surface or zoom in stellar objects to see what they look like from afar. And it would be like a sniper scope too, giving more accuracy to hardpoints.

I would like to see more "perk" based mods, such as the ones you describe. Ones that change the behavior of modules, rather than just their stats. One example I thought of was a FSD module that allows you to stop further from a star (or even let you choose which one to hyperspace to).

This. I really hate that I have to use up 2 internal slots just for the scanners. Why isn't this just a part of the already MASSIVE and EXPENSIVE Sensors suite?

Or at least give me a Class 2 version of the scanners (since I'm already using up class 2 internals) that do a combo effect.

Wait I thought only a surface scan (level 2) was needed not a detailed surface scan (level 3) to see the surface map
 
An engineer that could turn all scanners and computers into one piece, that could fit in one slot of the internals....

How about mods for our 250 ton internal scanners too. Surely an ADS And A DSS could be stuffed in there somewhere as they are like 1 ton.

But Yes an optional merged size 2 module with ADS and DSS totally makes sense but it seems no one is listening. :rolleyes:

I would like a way to break large compartments into small ones. For instance, you could break a class 2 into two class 1 slots. That would allow you to put the ADS and DSS in basically the same slot. Theres lots of other possibilities though, too.

Am I missing something? (I could be I've been away a few days) Where did this happen?

Only vote I know of is the one for delayed ship transfer, and with that Frontier even said they've already made their mind up and it would take a significant majority for them to rethink.

Why not scanning the navbeacon or buying system data on stations if you dislike the DSS so much? ;)

Yep I found it of great use right through beta 1 to 6, then they changed it just before release, what? Now I use the detailed surface map once or twice in a system, and not at all for many systems
 
I would prefer an engineer that would take your size 1 ADS and your size one DSS and make a Size 3 all in one scanning utility so you don't have to waste two bays for them. Or make them able to be mounted as utilities as well.
