Your kidding right? Democratic process get's dumped on because it doesn't go the way of some people and it's fought against the will of the majority, that's freedom?
People said the same thing about Obama during both elections. You won't go anywhere and you know it.
But they have guns over in America. Despite the crippling racism and rampant consumerism forcing everyone into being sheeple, isn't that enough of a sign they're totally more free and liberal and generally better than everyone else?

Yes , america voted for peace , no second cold war or worse. The eagle and the bear have a change to get at least on somewhat good terms again.

Possibly, but also this bears some resemblance to the run up to WW2 - situation with Brexit, Trump winning, and other situations across the world show that countries are veering towards electing extreme right wing leaders, elected mainly by the relatively poorer people in that country. Could be that this will be the salvation of all the oppressed classes as you believe. However, it didn't work out that way last time around.
To all those who see parallels between today and the early 1930s, you can now add American Isolationism to the list.
I think a lot of people were mentioning that Trump might start WW3 and suchlike. That is not the issue. The real issue is that he doesn't care if WW3 starts as long as America isn't involved (although I suspect he will be quite happy to sell them weapons).
This approach didn't work in the 1930s and it probably won't work now either, but the next 8 years will tell.

The democratic process should require honesty, nothing less. Democracy is basically dead, if all you have to do is lie, to say what you believe the people want to hear, then you are just committing fraud.
