Report of the Conflux Dinasty Probe - Rally Point 3 (dnstys6 erm002)

Dinasty Expedition - Conflux Rally Point 3

Game Map Search ref: PRU AESCS TY-J A64 Planet 1, Moon A - USS - Probe (9164,72 Ly from Sol)
Probe starts trasmitting at the :00 of every hour

Description: CMDR Noobdelux has been to first to arrive in one of the locations given by the Federals and leaked by the Children of Raxxla. But nothing were to be found in the exact system, so inspecting nearby system he has found the probe orbiting Moom 1A (wich is landable). CMDR Akira Masakari was already in the Conflux from weeks, and was rushing to the destination too. Guided by CMDR Noobdelux, he could make visual contact with the probe, and using recording software installed in a Condor Fighter (to eliminate interferences coming from the mothership) recorded the probe that activates at the :00 of every hour, and transmiss a code:

The recording has been held to Formidine Rifters Scientists that broke it

Transcrittion is: DYJEPQYUWLUDCQCKJXUEOKJ DJPQYP6UNL002 NEHHYLKCJQ3 OKJSHRW LNR EUPOP QY FE 64 1 IKDUPQEJDXY

Wich has been decripted too:

rally point 3
conflux

mode standby

And here follows a system map: I honked the horn but did not surface scan anything.
Nonteless, only after having targeted the probe, the scan data of 1A, wich is landable, was present in my ship navcomp.

This probe is situated in the system Pru Aescs NC-M d7-192 Planet A2A

It was found by CMDR Domaq, recorded by me, trasmission kicks at :45 of every hour:

The system map thing is quite interesting (and easy to overlook). Anyone checked if something like this happens at the other two locations as well?

Curious, especially since I was under the impression this was related to the Formidine Rift mystery and that the objec tof that endeavour would apparently not require Horizons (therefore planetary landing would not be necessary)
So if this is a significant addition (Or possibly just the result of a passive scan due to proximity???) and sonmething IS potentially located on that planet - then it would be extra to the rift mystery?

For reference, AIUI the cipher is simple substitution, as:

plain: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
code: EXODUSABCFGHIJKLMNPQRTVWYZ

...movement of Jah people...

Code:
plain = 'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ 1234567890'
code = 'EXODUSABCFGHIJKLMNPQRTVWYZ 1234567890'

while True:

    text = input('Enter text to decipher: ')
    text = text.upper()

    decoded = ''

    for letter in text:
        pos = code.index(letter)
        decoded += plain[pos]

    print(decoded)

I haven't been following everything to the last point but where do you get the EXODUS from?
Otherwise yes, seems to be monoalphabetic encyption with the standard english alphabet

Pretty sure I read in t'other thread that the wing mate scanned the body. When winged, scans are shared.

yup, this might be the case. I've passed a couple of hours on the planet surface and found nothing, altough it might be difficult to visually find a POI ona planet surface for a single CMDR.

Sorry but I could not resist. As of 16:18 18th November, Federation contributions: less than 500, CoR greater than 63 000 !

I think it might be worth mentioning here then, that as per some posts on another thread, the NUMBER OF landable planets are identified in the beacon message identificaiton - i.e it refers to the landable planets in that system as "rally points" not that the beacon itself is a numbered rally point.

This woudl suggest then, that indeed the landable planets are relevant, but (as per Drew Wagar's ealrier hint) Horizons (and therefore planetary landings/recon) is not necessarily required - for the solution to Formidsine Rift mystery at least.

That's not of course discounting any potential additional information pertinent to the Dynasty Expeditions themselves...

Have arrived in the area. Had intended to go economical from 200ly out but realised I have not idea what I'm looking for :/
So went straight to Pru Aescs NC-M d7-192.
For anyone else unsure - an 'unregistered comms beacon' pops up on the navigation console

Found one: But I don't know how to make it 'speak'? Over to you Cmdr Akira ;)

It's not near a planet either - it's just near the star

Not sure how you guys go about checking systems. I found it useful to filter for 'not visited' and 'apply filter to route' and jump around :) It occurs to me that if we share our visited systems, then we can know what is visited directly in the gal map. You can always delete and recreate your visited cache later if it's important to you.
Thus, the 80 odd systems I visited so far are listed in the spoiler.

Figuring time was the thing to make the satellite speak, I hung around until the o'clock, but nothing happened. I tried to get back for :15 but got stuck in the SC to normal space transition for around 30 secs and thus missed it by sniff. I've hung around for the :30 and nothing, and will wait until :45

Edit: 45 is a bust. so must have been 15...curse of the network dragons :(

I am sure it turned up somewhere but here's the recent GalNet article about the MetaDrive audit:

Galactic News: MetaDrive Audit Complete

19 NOV 3302

The independent audit of defunct technology company MetaDrive Inc. has now reached an end, and other than a few minor items the acquisition of all remaining assets has been completed.

One such item is the Imperial Eagle of the company's late chairman Femi Dakarai, which was owned by MetaDrive. In a strange turn of events, the ship was stolen by former MetaDrive employee Raan Corsen, who disappeared shortly after the audit began.

A number of files relating to Dakarai's affairs are also believed to be missing. A junior member of the audit team reported that a series of so-called 'exodus documents' could not be located. The employee was unceremoniously removed from the audit team shortly afterwards.

A spokesperson for BigSix, the auditor, provided a statement:

"The audit of MetaDrive is now complete, and contrary to previous misleading reports, we have all the documentation we need. It transpires the Eagle spacecraft stolen by Raan Corsen crashed somewhere in the Alioth system while fleeing security forces. The vessel was fully insured, so BigSix is not unduly concerned by its loss."

So there's the reference I guess...

@ Disorganize: sup, i can't rep you atm!!!! That beacon has already been found.
It seems that there are 4 beacons per given sector.

4 have been found in the rift
4 have been found in the gap
3 have been found in the conflux

It's possible that the 4th in the conflux went missing and it's not there:
the first probe in each sector was found in the exact system it was given by the feds, but in the conflux the given system is completly empty (only an M class star).

I think (might be wrong) that all the probes have already been found, and that they did not introduce the 4th Conflux probe in order to make us search for the entire duration of the CG.
