The north pole is an insane 36 degree warmer than normal as winter descends.
Political people in the United States are watching the chaos in Washington in the moment. But some people in the science community are watching the chaos somewhere else — the Arctic. It’s polar night there now — the sun isn’t rising in much of the Arctic. That’s when the Arctic is supposed to get super-cold, when the sea ice that covers the vast Arctic Ocean is supposed to grow and thicken. But in fall of 2016 — which has been a zany year for the region, with multiple records set for low levels of monthly sea ice — something is totally off. The Arctic is super-hot, even as a vast area of cold polar air has been displaced over Siberia.
If anyone thinks we have time for a climate change denier right now, and we have time to debate with deforesters, instead to act than he is dead wrong. Just as i said previously this is not simply the last hour but the very last second! We either stop polluting, and stop deforesting, start reforesting so the earth CO2 level can start to decrease, or we screwed.

:) Ok. And sorry about this but this is what i got when i copypasted the article into the forum.

Talking about deforestation? I think the easiest way to do something with it if we place punishing tax, or complete trade ban, for any ware whom related to such activity. If it's not pays off, they are not going to do it.

If we really want to save last bits of dignity and self-respect as a species, we should sod off this planet as soon as possible...

Unless you mean dying out, no can do. There's nowhere to go, and the logistics of moving billions are impossible.

The logistics of moving hundreds of thousands are technically within our reach in 100-200 years.
The rest will have to die out, yes. :D

I'm just saying that it really doesn't matter what will we do and how considerate we will (try) to be, the planet simply isn't able to support a civilization over certain energy output and population.
Either we leave or we die.

For that, we need 100 years at the bare minimum, because currently not anwhere near to the capabilities to leave earth with numbers and technology big enough to survive and flourish outside of earth.

Besides where we can go? Currently the only opinion we have to reduce our ecological footprint as fast we can, as much we can. Otherwise we are done for good. Mars? That's a long shot by taking account the fact how different is compared to earth. leave the solar system to other habitable worlds? 2-300 Years of the future.

Not to mention, even if we reduce our carbon emission we still only done half of the job, because if we don't do something about the carbon currently on the air, the whole effort is worthless.

Where would you go? You won't find a biosphere better suited for us humans. The rest of the solar system is brutally inhospitable, and we won't be departing to the stars. Even if we had the option, leaving this oasis would be madness. It would be like an individual deciding to move to live 1km deep in the Antarctic ice sheet, sealed from the atmosphere and making, their own from breaking down the ice.

And guess what? It would still be more hospitable than trying to live off this planet.

I wonder if I could head up there, bottle the water and sell it.

If Earth is going to heck, I might as well get rich so I can afford my air-conditioned bio-dome.

And that's going to save you?
How? If we have a nuclear winter after that life can be a hell but earth can be still livable.
But if the planet slowly boils up? Because this is what glasshouse effect means in the long run!

Game over!

And you can't leave earth anytime soon and hope to survive in the long run.

Edit; Money don't save you! power don't save you! Social status don't save you! You can pray, but it's useless! The one and only thing what we can do, to do anything what we can, but don't have any illusion! Even in the best case we going to be screwed up! And yet, we must do everything we can. Otherwise, there will be nothing left! And don't think for a second the models can predict what's coming right now. We are in the turning point, and what's coming after it? Cannot be precisely seen or known too many variables...

Tis a joke...b/c at this point...I don't even know what to think

I still have option X, but I'm not telling anyone

I have a lot of sadness for our planet. Not for the human species which is unworthy to live above, but for our planet
I wouldn't worry too much about the planet. George Carlin made a great comment (paraphrased by me) years ago:

"The Earth's ecosystem isn't fragile. We (humans) are what's fragile. The Earth will shrug us off like fleas."

This is not an statement by me that is for or against the climate change debate. Just a consideration about our place on this planet.
