Simple enough question!

How many people have SLFs on one of their ships?

I've not installed any or crew. Waste of a slot and income imo.

On my Gunship, yes. Adds a little bit of extra fun to combat and provides some nice option for flying over planet surfaces and can do crazy stuff without worrying about destroying you main ship.

Got a mostly harmless pilot, slowly levelling them up, now at Novice.

Only in Beta, I'm greedy, I want to keep all the spoils!

Really haven't had a need or gotten round to it. Other activities keep me busy so far.

SLF are imo one from the best additions to the game which brings real fun and enjoyment. Just park your slow big "carrier" over any nice spot on the planets or big space structures and enjoy with your SLF (low-altitude) fast flight. They are also very good support in PvE (higher crew rank is visible) and could be tactical element in PvP. You have fast, extremely agile and nicely armed "drone" which operates without "life" risk.

Haven't bothered.

Doesn't seem worthwhile to waste a slot on my ship, lose possible income, and deal with the various bugs surrounding it (such as going in a fighter making it impossible to get massacre mission kill credit). The ships that can even use them are somewhat pricey and generally not worthwhile as a new-ish player (in my opinion).

I have pressed one 5D hangar into my Anaconda. She is so full and so much things squeezed in her, if we get one single new module, she explode :D
All other ships not worth. Corvette is collecting dust since i can't imagine to do the engineer grind again....

Yes, SLFs is an excellent addition for exploration down on the planets. I just wish you could dismiss your main ship, so you didn't have to wait on the slooow anaconda to catch up.

@those ing about the "loss of profit". HTFU, there "cut" is marginal, you will never notice it in the grand scheme of things, especially when you are making millions on a mission. Like your going to miss that 10k cr that your pilot takes.

I love it, and the bigger bays are nice for when one fighters dies, you just tell your pilot to launch the other while a new one is being built. Still not entirely happy about them pre nerfing these things from the start, I mean, hell if I have 2 fighters I can launch, then let me launch 2 damn fighters!!! I want to have a drone swarm, or at least a small group! It does seem that the fighter really doesn't do THAT much damage, even the plasma tipan doesn't seem to deal that much. But hay, they help distract your target at best from aiming at you.

Yes, I did. I have two on my Corvette.
It's great. Love those fighters. It adds a whole new dynamic.
If there are bugs I did not encounter them.

First thing I did when 2.2 dropped, buy a beluga, fit it out with passenger cabins and fighter bay, die to wanted passengers issue

Good times o7

Uh! My finger slipped and I voted no but it's actually the first thing I did. I put in a size 6 on my anaconda and absolutely love the SLFs + Crew.

No, but that's because I haven't been near the bubble since Horizons dropped, so I've missed a lot of content so far. Downside of being an Explorer unfortunately.

I've got a 6D on my cutter and I love it. Great for exploring planet surfaces and having some general fun, plus they add to the immersion/excitement during combat. They're actually very useful during PvE, especially when taking on wings as you can get the SLF to target and distract the wingmen while you take on the leader. I've trained my pilot (Harry "Mad dog" Wise) up from Mostly Harmless to Dangerous and he's improved appreciably; better still, he only takes 9%, which I can happily live with.

You've been out that long? Man... can you post a screenshot of your ship?

Fighters and beluga are very bad designed. What do you need for passengers?
Shields, fuelscoop, fighter hangar
Choose 2 of them, cause beluga can only hold 2 of these.

So no fighter for me for the beluga. I don't even think about filling these 128t fuel with a class 4 fuelscoop [wacko]

On the flip side, I've been interdicted by a few elite Anacondas with SLFs tonight and I must admit the SLFs make a difference. I had to run from a fight because of it. The time it took me to kill the SLF (fixed repeaters) was long enough to give the Conda the edge and I had to book it. Granted I was in my Python, all loaded up with mission cargo at the time.
