51 weeks of interstellar sand blasting

Found an ELW tonight, decided to take a picture of it reflected in my windscreen and noticed just how bad the paintwork was looking. It didn't look like that last time I did this!

So I dug out the old picture and checked when I was in that system.

What a difference (nearly) a year makes...

That all depends really. There's a good 15kly of the outer arm in front of me before I get to the end, but there's a 3-4kly gap where the density thins right down that I'm on the edge of. If I can't find a way past it soon then I'll be turning round and heading back towards the Formidine Rift area so I can cross to the Perseus Arm in a day or two and it'll be before Christmas, if I can manage to push through this gap then it'll be a bit longer...

I'm assuming this only shows if you have a paint job and logos?
I'm in a stock 1.4 ASP X and I have nothing like this.
A year hasn't made a difference for me alas.
81% hull -- does that matter?

You'll be directed to a dark corner at the back of the docking bay when you finally bring that thing home... "Would sir like us to scrap that immediately?" :)

Well imgur seems to be down. However I'm happy to report my ship is looking worn.
Screen shots will be posted soon

Edit: I added the DW decal at Jaques when my paint was 35% - it went on already worn to match the paint....didn't think to photo it though...This is both good and bad - good if you want it to match, but I think it would be nice to 'spray a new decal' over the worn paint and have it wear independently.
I assume the new shipkits would be the same - ie, go on worn

Edit 2
Pulled a screeny from a video capture of the decal when applied at Jaques;

And a couple of seconds video showing the change ;)

I like the distressing, but it should definitely
(a) Take longer to get into such a state
(b) not be symmetrical - it can look stoopid
