SHIP TRANSFER - Way too expensive / Jumping for hours = WASTE of time

The initial idea of ship transfer was to make the game more "playable", erasing the need to taxi between stations and seeing endless jump screens (=waste of time).

I went to the CG on Monday with my Conda and wanted to transfer my Corvette to get into action. It would have take more than 45 (!) minutes in my Corvette just to GET to the action becore I could actually do what I wanted to. So I took my Conda and it still took a lot of time and I literally was exhausted jumping dozens of times. I simply was not in the mood to play anymore as this useless and frustrating jumping bored me to death and the evening I planed to play this game was actually not about playing but more navigating my ship to the action. Then at least I wanted to get my Corvette to be shipped there for the next evening so I can start an Elite session with actually playing the game. The costs were around 18 (!!!!!!!) million credits. That's insane. And the time was ridiculously long.

So, what was planned to make the game more playable finally turned into a cash barrier (and time). I voted for a bit of a time gap but HELL NO! Not for a time and cash intensiv cash transfer. Another GREAT example of a total failure. Good initial though and approach by FDev, then totally crushed by the community and FDev itself.

AWESOME! This game sucks so hardcore.

Well the community didn't make the costs that high, that was all FD. The community did get the delay exactly as it is though. Including you because you voted for it.

I've not used it yet. There's not been a single time it would have been useful due to the delay exceeding manual travel.

It is what it is. You voted for it. We're stuck with it now.

Yes, I see you are pi<censored>ed on cost and time. But its working as intended. It makes you think if you need a Corvette. If not simply don't do it.
I am absolutely fine with time and cost. I know you cannot understand why someoen is of this opinion but that's ok. Nowadays it is all about multi million CR/h ratio.
I can make an easy living with less and still have fun.

The best advise I can give to minimize rage: Play for fun, not for credits. If credits are your fun, you can also goto work.

I'd personally prefer if it was all just one jump, at least as much as fuel allows. I don't mind if the witchspace sequence is just as long timewise especially once spacelegs* are a thing.

But the whole "star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J, star, press J" thing to get somewhere far in the bubble in a combat ship... THAT IS NOT GOOD GAMEPLAY. It is a ton of loading scenes that demand a mindless prompt from the player to get to the next one over and over again. A wall blocking the actual gameplay. The spaceflight may be unrealistic and arcadey but at least it's fun flying around, hell, at least supercruise has some variety... not so the jumps! Once you've seen each kind of star a bunch of times the novelty really wears off.

Just give me a long witchspace sequence from where I am to my destination so I don't need to be there to sit through all the load screens.

*Though unless Frontier really fixes their approach I won't be giving them any money or indeed opening the game again. Their loss of customers I guess, everyone I know has stopped actually playing and purchasing too.

Oh, the drama. Doing a dozen jumps or so. Absolutely nothing to see here. Shipping prices of ships are now acceptable (price has been cut in half), non-instant transfers were a majority vote by the player community on a poll made by Frontier. /thread

I really like it as is and use it extensively.

Yes, jumping could be so much better. It'd be great to just go to ultra cruise with speed 1000x supercruise, dodging star gravity wells in the galactic map (similar to currently dodging planetary gravity wells in SC) until manually disengaging or running out of fuel. It'd give us something to do, and take a tiny bit of skill to end up in the right place.
Advantages:
More fun
Could go to secondary stars.
Could be same general duration as current for small distances, but quicker overall for long hauls as wouldn't need to charge FSD every 60 sec

You mistake me for someone who desperately needs to use this feature.

Yes. I'll just do something I didn't want to do while I wait, instead of just moving the ship manually in a fraction of the time and do what I wanted to do.

I don't care any more. I'm not asking for it to change. It is what it is. I just stated a fact. I've not used it yet because it wouldn't have benefited me.

It's not a big deal. Engineers means most travel is reasonably quick. This is just a non feature for me.

I'm glad you use it lots though. If it benefits someone then it's a good addition to the game.

My point was that the op is complaining when they literally asked for it to be this way.

I stopped giving feedback and trying to get this changed ages ago. It's not worth the effort. Even if it was instant, I'd not use it if the costs were higher than now.

I've accepted that ship transfer was never going to be useful for me. The op needs to do the same.

Ooooh, the fanboy base. Folks, if you like to waste your time in a useless game loop, fine. This game sucks. Gameplay sucks. Jumping for ages and gigantic grind loops are not gameplay. It s simply a bad game.
