So I've decided to give mining a go again. Just wanted to try something different. (last time I tried it was before limpets were available, so you can imagine i didn't enjoy it much back then)
Anyway, after gearing up and fiddling around in an asteroid belt to get the hang of things, I went looking for some pristine metallic rings to get the juicy stuff.
Looked and looked, and the best I could find was just metallic. Where's the pristine??
So I decided to "cheat" and look online. Found the edtools.ddns.net site which lists pristine rings. Though even when I visited some of those rings listed, they still showed in the system map as simply "metallic".
I thought maybe the planet needed a detailed surface scan, but you can's DSS known bodies.
Are these rings dynamic? Meaning they can be over-farmed to remove their pristine status?
